The Disaster Program Delivery Specialist: - Collects, coordinates and/or reviews applicant data to determine eligibility and priority of assignments to include but not limited to: audits for completeness, reviews information gathered during the Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) for assigned applicants, completes exploratory calls to gather information from applicants, and understands each applicants' projects and recovery priorities.
- Supports the communication process with the applicant about their status by scheduling regular meetings, tracking and following up with the applicants on FEMA's requests. Coordinates transmittal of documents through FEMA's Consolidated Resource Centers utilizing a web-based tool, schedules site inspections with the applicants and Site Inspector Task Force Leader and identifies when technical expertise may be needed throughout the program delivery process.
- Supports the claims process by reviewing and validating damage details, scopes of work, and costs with the applicant. Participates in regular FEMA meetings by providing updates on work status and may evaluate claims and make recommendations to FEMA as to whether the claim is eligible. Assists with the development of the Determination Memo and communicating final determinations to the applicants during close out. Conducts an exit briefing with the applicant. Performs other duties as required.
- May coordinate and complete basic to moderately complex site inspections to validate and record damage to assist in the FEMA Public Assistance grant delivery process.

In the role of Water and Wastewater Engineering Intern, we'll count on you to:
* perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager on various engineering related projects.
* Evaluating and designing water/ wastewater treatment facilities, distribution systems, and collection systems
* Review and create overall project designs and process diagrams for treatment and conveyance systems.
* Support and collaborate with civil engineers, utility management staff and technical professionals across disciplines.
* Prepare reports and technical memoranda
* Coordinate with subconsultants
* Assist senior staff in maintaining project schedules and budgets
* Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
* Completion of two years towards a degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline with 3.0 GPA
* Coursework in Water and Wastewater Treatment Processes, Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Systems, Hydrology and Hydraulics, Stormwater Management and Design or other topics focused on water/wastewater/water resources.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
* Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
* Attention to detail
* Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Basic Microsoft Office skills

Primary Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Drinking Water & Wastewater Engineer include but are not limited to planning, directing and monitoring technical aspects of drinking water and wastewater design projects which contain a high degree of technical complexity.
In the role of Drinking Water & Wastewater Engineer, we'll count on you to:
* Take responsibility for performing complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
* Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
* Function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects as needed
* May be involved with coordinating staffing and workload of staff through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
* May supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
* Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures and for the execution of training for personnel as established.
* Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
* Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree
* Experience working with Alaska Native Villages or Indigenous communities
* A minimum of 3 years' experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
* Familiarity with rural logistics and procurement challenges

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
* Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
* Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
* Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
