Summary of Essential Duties:
+ As a ClinicalNurse III you will perform a variety of direct patient care activities specific to the unit and needs of the patient population
+ Perform patient assessments, triage patient concerns, provide clinical education to patients for pre-ops and other disease management education
+ Manage anticoagulation, coordinate patient care, and maintain overall management of the ambulatory cardiac clinic with over 20 providers daily
+ Obtain prior authorizations
+ Triage phone calls from patients, pharmacies and other providers
+ Identify the ability of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients to follow instructions, as well as safety concerns in the age-related populations
+ Institute additional measures to provide a safe environment

This is a golden age of heart transplantation, and the Heart Transplant Program at the Smidt Heart Institute is a trailblazer for the procedure in the US and around the world.
For four years in a row, the program has completed more adult heart transplants than any other medical facility in the nation. Heart failure -when the heart pumps less blood than the body needs-is the most common reason the procedure is necessary.
Our physicians work closely with other programs, including the Heart Failure Program , Mechanical Circulatory Support Program , Interventional Cardiology and the Regenerative Medicine Clinic .
More than a thousand patients have undergone transplants at Cedars-Sinai since the program was established in 1988, according to UNOS. Because we treat more of these patients than any other center in the United States, we can tailor our approach to each individual's needs.
Summary of Essential Duties:
+ The ClinicalNurse II, under the direction of the Associate Director and Clinical Program Manager, performs a variety of tasks specific to the needs of the patient population
+ Retrieving and recording diagnostic test results done at Cedars-Sinai or patient's community medical facility

**What will you be doing in this role?**
The Clinical Operations Coordinator II, RN reports to the Manager of Clinical Operations and works independently and collaboratively with the operational leadership and clinical staff to promote quality care and ensure consistency in clinical practices as they relate to regulatory standards, policies and procedures.

The Cardiovascular Intervention Center is a core element of the Smidt Heart Institute, performing more than 8,000 procedures a year. The department serves the populations of neonates to and including geriatrics. In this twelve-laboratory facility, we perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for coronary artery disease, heart muscle function and heart valve dysfunction.
As a ClinicalNurse III, you will assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. You will work in a fast-paced environment (Electrophysiology and Cardiac Catherization procedure rooms and Holding area). You will also be cross-trained to use your clinical competencies to circulate, monitor, scrub for invasive procedures for a population from neonate to geriatric. This role entails care of Cardiac patients from point of admission to discharge, including prolonged hours in a procedure setting with x-ray exposure. Responsibilities include: On-call coverage for emergency procedures evenings, nights, weekends with an expected 30-minute maximum response/arrival time.
The schedule for this position will be four (4) ten-hour shifts on weekdays, and some Saturdays, as well as being on-call for nights and weekends approximately nine (9) times during a six-week period. Employees who live more than 30 minutes from the facility will stay in a local hotel while on-call in order to be available during emergencies.

The Case Manager is responsible for the case management of patient while hospitalized and upon discharge from various care settings. In collaboration with the Inpatient Specialty Program (ISP) hospitalists, the Case Manager will assist patients from the time they are admitted until they are discharged from the hospital by assessing their needs, coordinating care, communicating with health plans, including concurrent review to determine the appropriateness of services rendered and to ensure that quality care is delivered in an efficient manner.

+ Coordinates the patient's care with other health care personnel to ensure that the patient receives care timely post discharge.

**Our Units:**
The Float Pool is a high level performing department staffed with healthcare professionals who are equipped to work in various areas of the hospital. These highly trained professionals working in the Float Pool support the organization by having the ability to care for some or all of the specialty patient populations. The organization has several specialty units that the float pool supports which include: Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Department (ED), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and four Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units (MS/TELE).
Our Intensive Care Unit is a 12 bed Medical and Respiratory MICU caring for patients with acute medical issues such as sepsis, GI bleeding, post code blue and respiratory issues. On this unit, our registerednurses typically have a 1:2 ratio and 1:1 ratio patients that meet the criteria. Each room has a HEPA filter and PAPRS readily available.
Our Emergency Department (ED) has 20 patient beds and sees on average 100 people a day. There are RegisteredNurses, Break RNs, Charge Nurses, Physicians, Physicians Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners on this cohesive multidisciplinary team. Our emergency medicine specialists are dedicated to providing comprehensive, leading-edge emergency care to a diverse population.
**Position Summary:**
The RegisteredNurse assumes accountability and responsibility for the delivery of patient care in the hospital setting and for the respective patient population.
· Provides direct and indirect patient care services, including the administration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care.
