Position Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in our ED, you are responsible and accountable for delivering direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Room (ER) setting. You will also:
* Provide quality care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility indicative of professional expectations with a minimum of supervision
* Triage safely, rapidly and accurately, every patient that enters the emergency care system
* Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the hospital system
* Communicate with Emergency Department physicians about changes in patient's status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies
* Respond quickly, and with accuracy to changes in condition or response to treatment in the ED

The Intraoperative Staff Nurse at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) plays a vital role in delivering safe, family-centered, and developmentally appropriate care to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. As a key member of the perioperative team, the nurse is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and advocating for the safety and comfort of the child throughout the intraoperative phase. This role requires clinical expertise in pediatric surgical nursing, strong communication and teamwork skills, and a commitment to CHLA's mission of creating hope and building healthier futures for children. The nurse collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure optimal outcomes in a fast-paced, high-acuity ambulatory setting.
**Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:**
- 1+ year experience as an RN

Purpose Statement/Position Summary
The Registered Nurse, under general supervision, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Neonatal Intensive Critical Care Unit (NICCU): a level IV neonatal intensive care unit, that features 58 beds and serves as an international referral center with the majority of patients from the western United States. We provide a complete range of medical and surgical services for neonates with the most complex conditions. The unit's specialized programs include the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Program, a Whole-Body Therapeutic Hypothermia Program, complex surgical specialties, highly specialized ventilatory support & home ventilation program, neonatal and infant diagnostic and follow-up services.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience
1+ years' experience as an Level III NICCU RN required ; NICCU experience Level IV preferred
Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment. Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain
a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate
tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Education/Licensure/Certification
Associates Degree in Nursing

We work with the following specialty groups to provide care: Anesthesiology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Cardiothoracic surgery, Dentistry, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, General pediatric surgery/Abdominal Transplant, Hematology/Oncology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Plastic Maxillofacial surgery, Pulmonology, and Urology.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
The Intraoperative Staff Nurse at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) plays a vital role in delivering safe, family-centered, and developmentally appropriate care to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. As a key member of the perioperative team, the nurse is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and advocating for the safety and comfort of the child throughout the intraoperative phase. This role requires clinical expertise in pediatric surgical nursing, strong communication and teamwork skills, and a commitment to CHLA's mission of creating hope and building healthier futures for children. The nurse collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure optimal outcomes in a fast-paced, high-acuity ambulatory setting.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
* 1+ year experience as an RN

The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
Education:
* Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required
Experience:
* 6 Months Nursing - Medical Acute Care Required
* 1 year Nursing - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Required and/or
* Nursing - Critical Care Required
Certifications/Licensures:
* RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing Required
* BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
* ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required
* PALS Pediatric Adv Life Support - American Heart Association Required within 30 days of hire / transfer
* Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11/15/2018) Required
* Clinical Specialty - Certification Preferred
Skills:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Effectively motivates teams.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TCAR with NOC and weekend requirement.
Work Shift:
08.0 - 09:00 - 17:30 No Waive (United States of America)
Pay Range:
$82.71 - $112.70
Hourly
Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it.
