The Senior PatientService Rep is responsible for positive patient relations, accurate telephone communication, appointment scheduling, patient registration, as well as payment and co-payment collection. This position also performs routine duties associated with the collection and maintenance of current patient demographics and insurance information. Able to independently perform these responsibilities based on the standard work for their department with minimal direction.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Check in and out patients and collect co-payments/give receipts/reconcile payments. Verifies that patient demographic and insurance information is accurate in CS-Link.
Schedule appointments, complete patient registration, collect patient payments and to deliver a high standard of customer service.
Finds opportunities for improvement within CS Link and department workflows.
As liaison coordinates administrative support activities including facilities management, patient billing, utilization management, quality management, risk management, human resources, and payroll. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, physicians, patients and departments.
Coordinates communication between patients, family members, medical staff, administrative staff, insurance plans and other departments.
Actively participate in lean management processes by detailing, monitoring and updating department specific data.
Manages physician master schedules and coordinate all schedule changes as instructed. Handle patient/provider correspondence as instructed.
Process and track referrals and authorizations for various insurance types.
Manages patient care flow and assist with monitoring CS-Link message pools and standard work.
Monitors their own workflow to meet the requirements of their position at a level of expertise that requires minimal direction.
Explains policies, procedures or services to patients using administrative knowledge.
Participates in daily huddles and staff meetings with topics and presentations to improve positive and effective partnership.
Practice infection prevention standards and all department policies and procedures.
Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
Three (3) years of PatientServiceRepresentative or Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient medical office setting required.

**Overview**
**Schedule:** Day Shift: 1 day on-site, 4 days remote
**Purpose Statement/Position Summary:** The Collection Representative is responsible for the billing and follow-up related to HMO's, PPO's, Medi-Cal, CCS, GHPP, PCCM's Managed Care and outside organizations. Responds to inquiries and resolves problems regarding billing and collection matters.
**Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:** 1 year experience of hospital Billing and Collections required, including insurance and government payers. Previous experience with facility claims for inpatient and or outpatient billing for commercial and managed care payers. Familiarity with medical billing processes, insurance claims, and understanding of medical coding (such as ICD-10, CPT) is essential. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software is also beneficial. Knowledge of CCS, Medi-Cal, GHPP. The ability to analyze financial documents, identify discrepancies, and resolve billing issues is essential. Strong problem-solving skills help in effectively managing accounts and ensuring timely collections. Meticulous attention to detail is necessary to ensure accuracy in billing and collections. Strong organizational skills are required to manage multiple accounts, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently.
**Education/Licensure/Certification:** High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate or degree in healthcare background preferred.

$43,680.00-$65,062.00

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 1+ year general clerical experience in performing billing related functions, preferably in a health care facility environment or a physician's office. 1 year of hospital billing experience preferred. Knowledge of payer policies and claim submission processes preferred. Problem-solving skills to identify and address potential billing issues.

As a member of the John Muir Health Physician Practices (JMHPP) Practice Development and Innovation team, the Coordinator, Patient Access Optimization (PAO) is responsible for monitoring and managing all patient access functions for JMHPP. The Coordinator, PAO proactively manages clinician scheduling templates, participates in operational, financial and process improvement analysis, implements solutions where necessary and assures appropriate utilization. The Coordinator PAO actively collaborates with physicians, practice managers and the Manager of PAO to ensure patient access metrics are being met or exceeded and all visit types are being optimized. The Coordinator drives compliance with JMHPP policies and assists in the facilitation of the development of standardized patient access procedures to promote best practice operations and utilization. This individual provides communication to the practice operations team to ensure timely and accurate scheduling, standardized templates, and responsive template management processes. The Coordinator provides recommendations to the Manager, PAO on streamlined workflows to promote optimization of an open access operating model. The Coordinator provides up-to-date reporting to provide to physicians on progress and performance on metrics such as historical visit type utilization and durations, existing template structures and functionalities, scheduling workflows, scheduling instructions, provider panel sizes etc. This individual works with department leadership on course correction if any of these metrics are not being met or exceeded. The Coordinator assists with facilitating the implementation of programmatic initiatives and the development of policies and procedures to drive a best-practice open-access ambulatory system.
This individual partners with system providers and practice operators to ensure optimal access strategies are implemented and appropriately monitored. This role collaborates with the other Coordinator(s), Patient Access optimization to execute tasks and reports to the Manager, Patient Access Optimization.
Education:
* Associates Degree or 4 years patient access experience - Required
