The X-Ray Technician Limited Permit supports patient care by performing x-rays as ordered by provider for diagnostic purposes. As a member of the patient care team, this role performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to maintain workflows and efficiency in the clinical offices
* Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures, positions patients on the exam table and adjusts equipment to obtain optimal views of specific body area
* Performs procedures based on established technique chart using independent judgment to support the radiological orders
* Exhibits solid understanding and collaborates with departments as it relates to radiological services

Duke urgent care doctors treat infants, children, and adults with minor injuries and illnesses when their primary care provider is unavailable, after hours, or when their condition is not serious and does not require emergency services. What you will do:
* Perform a variety of tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated anatomical areas of interest. Adjust equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
* Explain x-ray procedures to patients.
* Position patients for each anatomical view using positioning assistance devices and protective equipment as necessary.
* Monitor accessory equipment and assist the physician with fluoroscopic procedures and special radiographic procedures.
* Accurately process images for optimal quality. Match with appropriate paperwork for interpretation.

Summary of Essential Duties:
* The Cardiovascular Technician/ Radiology Tech assists in all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center and is a member of the Electrophysiology Lab

Summary of Essential Duties:
* The Cardiovascular Technician/ Radiology Tech assists in all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center and is a member of the Electrophysiology Lab
* Provides a safe patient care environment, maintains and operates the physiological monitoring/recording system for both interventional cardiac and electrophysiology studies
* Assists physicians by functioning as scrub tech, monitor role or assistant circulator, archives all digital images and documents all actions taken by the EP Lab
* Responsible for being able to setup and operate all equipment within the department that may be required for a given procedure including but not limited to: Electrophysiology studies, Ablation, Pacemakers and ICD implants
Qualifications
Education:
* Graduate of a JRCERT Radiologic Technology program required
License/Certifications:
* Current ARRT and CRT certifications required
* Fluoroscopy permit required
* BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required (ACLS preferred)
* ARRT-CI specialty certification preferred
Experience:

A Little More About What You Will be Doing
The Radiology Technician (CRT) supports patient care by performing x-rays as directed by physician for diagnostic purposes. Proficiency with the use of x-ray equipment and associated procedures according to assignments and job responsibilities. Additionally, the CRT will perform routine and basic administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running efficiently.
* Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures, positioning patients on the examining table and adjusting equipment to acquire optimum views of specific body area as ordered by clinician
* Performs procedures based on established technique chart using independent judgment to support the radiological orders.
* Uses appropriate technique charts and assures markers are set appropriately
* Maintains logs for quality control based on manufacturers recommendation
* Reviews dosimeter reports monthly
* May assist the clinician during examinations and/or minor surgeries
* Keeps exam and/or procedure rooms stocked with adequate medical/surgical supplies, maintains instruments, and performs sterilization as required

The Cardiovascular Intervention Center is a core element of the Smidt Heart Institute, performing more than 8,000 procedures a year. The department serves the populations of neonates to and including geriatrics. In this twelve-laboratory facility, we perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for coronary artery disease, heart muscle function and heart valve dysfunction.

Summary of Essential Duties:
The Cardiovascular Technician/ Radiology Tech assists in all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center and is a member of the Electrophysiology Lab
Provides a safe patient care environment, maintains and operates the physiological monitoring/recording system for both interventional cardiac and electrophysiology studies
Assists physicians by functioning as scrub tech, monitor role or assistant circulator, archives all digital images and documents all actions taken by the EP Lab
Responsible for being able to setup and operate all equipment within the department that may be required for a given procedure including but not limited to: Electrophysiology studies, Ablation, Pacemakers and ICD implants
Hours for this position will be 9:00am to 7:30pm four shifts per week.
Education:
Graduate of a JRCERT Radiologic Technology program required
License/Certifications:
Current ARRT and CRT certifications required
Fluoroscopy permit required
BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required (ACLS preferred)
ARRT-CI specialty certification preferred
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience performing a variety of Radiologic Interventional scans and/or procedures in a busy clinic environment required
Applicants with less than 3 years of experience may be considered as Electrophysiology IR Tech I
Excellent arrhythmia recognition and hemodynamic monitoring skills required
Congenital Heart experience preferred

As a Radiological Technologist on the X-Ray team, you will contribute to our quality care by producing diagnostic images using a variety of radiographic equipment, including fixed radiographic, O & C-Arms and fluoroscopic. You will perform radiographic procedures on neonate, children, adults, and geriatric patients.
Summary of Essential Duties:
Patient education prior to the examination
Preparation of supplies and equipment set up
Helping perform sterile technique procedures
Following established quality assurance procedures
Maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality
Assisting radiologists as needed
This position involves rotating within our various radiology locations

Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an JRCERT approved Radiologic Technology Training Program required
License/Certification:
Current CRT, CRT-Fluoro, ARRT and BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) certifications required
Experience:
Radiology Tech experience preferred
Applicants with 2+ years of experience may be considered as a Radiology Tech II
Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing, decision making and multi-tasking skills required
Understanding of medical terminology and medical diagnoses required
Flexibility and the ability to perform under stressful situations required
Ability to identify and recognize contraindications for exams required
Knowledge of clinical billing preferred
Physical Demands:
Frequently move/lift between 20-50 pounds, depending on assignment requirements
Stand for extended periods with frequent squatting, twisting, bending, kneeling and reaching to prepare equipment, materials or objects in order to deliver patient care or maintain the patient environment
