Position Summary
As a Mixer, you will make batch mixes using established formulations and methods in a manner to ensure that safety, quality and production goals are met on a daily basis.
Position Responsibilities
Completes mixing tasks on a rotational basis as assigned by the supervisor/team leader of the department.
Safety (daily requirements):
Follow all company safety procedures in completion of job duties.
Verify that all safety-related devices, machine guarding, signage, etc. are in place and functioning prior to releasing equipment for production.
Wear required PPE for job function.
Participate in 6S events in the department and throughout the facility.
Sustain 6S standards through good housekeeping and execution of standard work.
Manage and handling of hazardous waste.
Productivity (daily requirements):
Perform minor equipment set-up and adjustments; operate all necessary mixing and testing equipment.
Gather and verify all raw materials for each batch mix per the double check sheet.
Follow standard operating procedures on check sheet to make required batch mixes.
Maintain mixes for all lines while performing other duties assigned by department.
Complete required documentation.
Complete production records and data entry as required (DPR's, process monitor, production summaries, double check sheets, work orders, etc.).
Lean (daily requirements):
Utilize LEAN Thinking in formal and informal settings including participating in LEAN Events (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Projects, Just-Do-It), submitting Suggestions, attending LEAN Training, and improving work cell/areas of responsibility daily.
Use visual tools and display boards and update them as appropriate.
Document all changes resulting from LEAN activities according to ISO guidelines.
Accept and embrace change necessary for continuous improvement.
Teamwork (daily requirements):
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers by willingness to take on additional responsibility and/or support.
Substitute and back-up production line positions if and when necessary.
Communication (daily requirements):
Maximize the flow of communication for effective performance within the department and between shifts.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of various equipment (fill machines, pallet jack, box knife, batch gun, mix tanks, drum mover, microscope, viscometer, and computer) is helpful.
Self-motivated with the ability to work at a fast pace in order to meet department units and production needs.
Ability to work as a member of a team to meet department goals.
High attention to detail.
Ability to read and comprehend work orders, charge sheets and PPE requirements.
Safety-oriented.
Respirator fit test and respirator questionnaire required upon hire and annually.
24-hour HAZMAT training upon hire, and 8-hour HAZMAT annually.
Compounding, quality or science education is preferred.
Some product knowledge is preferred.
Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
Education and Certification
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Some college preferred with advanced mathematics and/or science background preferred.
Compensation Range for the Position:
$14.82 - $18.90 - $22.97 USD

Summary

Daily tasks include recording of ingredient lot numbers, weighing and combining product ingredients using a scale, physically putting ingredients into a 1,000-pound-capacity mixer, recording mix times, dough temperatures, moisture percentages and other data on paperwork, programming mixer settings using a function-key-style computer terminal, washing/rinsing/sanitizing equipment, mixing water and dry yeast to produce yeast slurry used in dough production, shoveling ice into large bins for use in dough mixing.
Job duties and responsibilities
Control the flow of allergens in the Sheeter room.
Control accurate formulations, document lot numbers, raw dough temperatures, and dough moisture percentages.
Make ice formula adjustments as necessary, communicating to the bakery lead if a product is not meeting its specification.
Understands the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
Takes a macro approach to the overall operation of the dough room.
Controls amount of scrap in batches and lines

Responsibilities
The Production Operator controls and operates equipment to mix and manufacture paint, lacquer, and stain per batch tickets. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Produces products by gathering, weighing, mixing and/or grinding raw materials using pumps, lines, valves, tanks, sand mills, filters and measuring devices.
Makes adds to production batches per QC department to meet standards.
Filters paint during the filling process into containers as specified on the batch ticket. Assembles filled containers and places orders on pallets.
Operates lift truck to transport items.
Maintains accurate records of materials and material lot numbers used and produced. Tracks raw materials inventories and notifies production supervisor when materials are nearing out-of-stock.
Cleans interiors of processing tanks and maintains an orderly work area.
Follows all safety standards and assures quality of work conforms to standards.
Qualifications
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior manufacturing experience required; experience manufacturing coatings strongly preferred. Will consider a combination of experience and education.
Ability to regularly lift and move up to 70 pounds
Forklift operator's certificate and previous experience strongly preferred.
Strong math skills, familiarity with US and metric measurements, and ability to convert between weights and measurements.
Candidates must be able to pass a color test, wear a fitted respirator, and tolerate solvent odors and other chemicals used within the facility.

Summary: Pulverize and blend resin used in the production of toys and consumer products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Pulverizing:
Pulverize pellets by grinding them into powder. Self-feed duel mill electric pulverizers, rate the pulverizers to assure maximum output.
Monitor amp meters, heat gauges and pressure meters. Record results.
Change blades, make mill adjustments.
Blending:
Mixes ground virgin powder into colored powder.
Weigh pigments or dyes at the prescribed weights and sift into mixer once the powder is in it.
Cleans the mixers in between color changes
Reads work order to determine amount of powder specified.
Computes amounts of ingredients required.
Scoops ingredients from canisters, and weighs ingredients on scale to obtain specified amounts.
Pour ingredients into cylindrical paddle mixing machine, starts mixer, and stops it after specified time.
Line stocking:
Transport blended powder to molding machines via a tow motor or lift truck.
Transport other materials in the processing department as needed.
Regrind:
Grinds scrap plastic parts through a Cumberland grinder, including cutting parts on a tabletop band saw.
Checks parts to assure there are no stickers or metal left in or on parts.
Cleans the grinder between color changes.
Weighs amount of each color of scrap ground in a shift.
