Job Summary
An electrician performs all types of electrical jobs throughout assigned locations or region. Electrical jobs include maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery used in production and manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities
* Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
* Install, adjust and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges and instruments
* Troubleshoot, evaluate and coordinate electrical needs, repairs and modifications
* Ensure that manufacturers standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment
* Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
* Maintain good housekeeping

Qualifications

Job Title: Mechanic
Reports to: Project Foreman
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
The Mechanic is responsible for the execution of electrical installations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews project scopes with the Foreman and plans execution of the project to ensure timely delivery
Ensures installations meet project scope, NEC, and ETI standards for code and quality
Follows all material planning, ordering, usage and inventory procedures to ensure the efficient acquisition and use of project materials
Follows all tool check-out/check-in procedures and ensures company-owned tools are properly accounted for and lost tools are reported per policy
Follows all safety rules and alerts a Foreman if safety hazards are identified that the Mechanic can't correct immediately
Completes all project reports and paperwork as
Accurately records time in the company's time tracking system
QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read and understand electrical plans (Division 26 drawings)
Ability to complete rough-in and trim-out operations without supervision, including bending and installing conduit, pulling wire and establishing connections per specification.
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
Ability to safely operate a variety electric, battery-operated and manual hand tools
Ability to drive a motor vehicle

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Construction sites can be loud (hearing protection is sometimes required)
Construction sites can be hot or cold, depending on the time of year and the stage of construction
Construction sites have slip and trip hazards, fall hazards, hazards from falling debris and other safety hazards. PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses and work boots are typically required.
WORK HOURS
The work hours for this position are typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break, but may vary based on client need and project schedule. Any changes in schedule will be announced by a Foreman
Overtime and weekend work may be required during busy periods.
DRESS CODE
Shirts must have a minimum of 6" sleeves and must be of full length.
Long pants are required except in rare cases where shorts are approved. Pants must be appropriate for a construction site, be clean and neat with no holes. Sweat pants are not allowed. Undergarments should not be seen.
Work boots are required. Safety shoes are recommended and may be required on some jobs. Tennis shoes, sneakers, soft-soled or worn-out shoes are not allowed.
Apparel may not contain offensive language or images.
Electrical Lineman
Freeport, TX jobs
High school diploma as well as the successful completion of a four-year apprenticeship is required to become a lineman.
Possess excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and organizational, and analytical skills.
Must have a valid CDL license
Responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment.
This includes work from power plants to the meters of customers homes.
Additionally, a lineman digs trenches for the installation of underground lines, install meters, climb poles to repair overhead lines and inspect power lines for possible repair or replacement.
