    Job DescriptionCennox is looking for a Construction Site Superintendent to work in the Fort Worth, TX area. Primary business is commercial construction and renovation services for financial institutions. Superintendent responsibilities include onsite management of commercial renovation projects. Project work takes place after hours and on weekends. The ideal candidate should have construction experience, ability to work without direct supervision, excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to organize their work using MS office tools. Ultimately, a successful Superintendent should ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day communication with Clients, Sub-Contractors, and internal staff.Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct site surveys to determine initial project plan with Project Manager. Ensure all required materials orders, equipment delivery, and inspections occur to support the project schedule. Responsible for site safety. Ensure the overall jobsite is safe for workers and visitors as well as manage compliance with established company safety policies. Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer's data and execute project based upon said documentation. Review construction documents for completeness and constructability. Manage the overall project and 3-week look ahead schedules, including working in master schedules and updating it on a weekly basis. Generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identifying and clarifying any discrepancies. Work with the project team to follow the company's quality control program for the project. Conduct preconstruction planning meetings. Conduct on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades lead personnel to clearly identify scope of work and quality expectations. Manage subcontractors for all work performed on-site. Set an example in keeping the job site organized and clean, including meeting standards for waste disposal and environmental protection. Track site progress, capture progress photos and report subcontractor onsite manhours utilizing an app on your phone. Job Requirements: Construction Management / Superintendent experience background (2 years minimum). 2+ years of proven leadership or supervisory role. Clean DMV/Background Check back to 18 years old. Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings. Reliable transportation and flexible work hours. All work is completed after hours at night and on weekends. High school diploma or equivalent. Organizational and multi-tasking skills. High level of attention to detail. Experience with interior finishes. Duties and Responsibilities • Supervise the construction and maintenance of the distribution and transmission facilities of RGEC in conformity with established standards and Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Specifications • Must be able to issue clear directions to construction crew and effectively manage daily workload and schedules • Ensure all jobs are completed in accordance with corporate specifications and timeframe • Ensures consistent information regarding direction of line feed, location of reclosing, and switching devices • Receive clearance and issue instructions to energize or de-energize lines and determine compliance with all safety precautions and regulations, when opening and closing energized lines • Able to work with contractors and establish a professional relationship to deliver projects within deadline • Required to be on the construction site constantly in order to ensure set standards are adhered • Attend meetings with respective department(s) and contractors • Coordinate and communicate with warehouse coordinators on documented Material Charge Outs, Returns, and Transfers • Ensure direct supervision and documentation of material transfer to contractors during reviewing, framing, and construction of RUS assemblies, as required • Develop and promote the required adherence to all established safety rules, regulations, and practices • Perform other jobs as directed • Learn and comply with Cooperative's safety rules and procedures • Maintain confidential information Qualifications • 15 years' experience in electrical distribution and transmission facilities preferred • Specialized training in maintenance and construction of overhead and underground power lines • Must be able to read staking sheets and order materials for projects, as required • Experience includes all phases of construction, maintenance, and system operation • Two-year management/supervisory experience desired • Must become familiar with various software applications (i.e. NISC-iVUE software including AppSuite, work order workflow, etc.) • Must possess knowledge of RUS Materials and Specifications for Line Construction, National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulations • Possess a valid Texas drivers' license • Insurable with the Cooperative's auto insurance carrier • Possess oral and written communication skills in the English language • Possess good interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain a harmonious working relationship with all Cooperative employees • Must be or become certified in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation Working Conditions • To ensure all employees are provided with drug free and alcohol-free working conditions, pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol tests are conducted on all employees • Subject to irregular hours, which may include nights, holidays and weekends • Must be able to work under adverse weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, high winds or stormy conditions • Subject to travel, including multiple overnight stay(s) • Requires lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying of various weights • Sitting/standing/ walking for extended periods of time Direct Reports n/a _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Rio Grande Electric Cooperative, Inc.     The Construction Project Superintendent oversees all aspects of construction site operations, from planning through completion. This role coordinates field work performed by subcontractors and vendors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Responsibilities include tracking schedules, managing change orders, ensuring quality control, addressing punch lists, and reporting project status. Additionally, the Superintendent promotes and enforces CBES' safety program, ensuring all employees and subcontractors adhere to company standards and culture. This position reports to the Senior Construction Project Manager. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervision - manage all construction activities, divisions of work, subcontractors, and suppliers. Scheduling - develop and sequence construction tasks appropriately. Update and implement changes in the operation as necessary to best meet client and construction deadlines. Safety - ensure work is completed safely and within safety regulations. Ability to identify potential hazards and mitigate risk. Budgeting - create cost estimates for labor, materials, and other project costs. Quality Control - inspect work to ensure it meets and complies with all plans, specifications and building codes. Communication - communicate with the subcontractors, management, and ownership on all levels. Conduct weekly on-site meetings with all subcontractors. Daily Reporting - compile and submit a detailed account of the day's construction activities, including progress updates, safety, weather impacts, labor hours, subcontractor performance, and any potential issues, to keep the project manager and other stakeholders informed on all aspects of project. Conflict Resolution - conduct mediation between subcontractors and labor forces as necessary. Project Closeout - manage subcontractor closeout, transfer of utilities, owner training, “work to complete” list, and final punch list. Education and Experience 5+ years experience in ground-up commercial construction projects. Ensure all required materials orders, equipment delivery, and inspections occur to support the project schedule. Responsible for site safety. Ensure the overall jobsite is safe for workers and visitors as well as manage compliance with established company safety policies. Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer's data and execute project based upon said documentation. Review construction documents for completeness and constructability. Manage the overall project and 3-week look ahead schedules, including working in master schedules and updating it on a weekly basis. Generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identifying and clarifying any discrepancies. Work with the project team to follow the company's quality control program for the project. Conduct preconstruction planning meetings. Conduct on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades lead personnel to clearly identify scope of work and quality expectations. Manage subcontractors for all work performed on-site. Set an example in keeping the job site organized and clean, including meeting standards for waste disposal and environmental protection. Track site progress, capture progress photos and report subcontractor onsite manhours utilizing an app on your phone. Job Requirements: Construction Management / Superintendent experience background (2 years minimum). 2+ years of proven leadership or supervisory role. Clean DMV/Background Check back to 18 years old. Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings. Reliable transportation and flexible work hours. All work is completed after hours at night and on weekends. High school diploma or equivalent. Organizational and multi-tasking skills. High level of attention to detail. Experience with interior finishes.
