The Center for Human Development was founded in 1975 as Human Development Services by its director, Lee Webster.
In 1980, Lee’s wife, Barb joined him in practice and Human Development Services became certified as an outpatient mental health clinic by the State of Wisconsin.
In 2000, the Center for Human Development moved its central office to its present location in Wausau with a satellite office in Tomahawk.
In 2009, the hospital cost for roughly 27,000 hospital stays for children treated primarily for CHDs in the United States was nearly $1.5 billion.
