Job Summary
Support the operation of PSEG's Electric Distribution, which operates 24x7 and 365 days per year. Provide a range of engineering expertise and management to operate and maintain the integrity of the Electric Transmission and Distribution System. Provide technical support to client and associate support staff to ensure development and deployment of efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures and methodologies. Utilize a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices, including financial and cost management. Supporting supervision of field forces, supervision/direction of craft/construction and/or engineering personnel in a union environment, work management, project management, as well as other technical and administrative duties. Coordinate and assemble information and a variety of reports required for regulatory, internal, and senior leadership review.
Job Responsibilities
* Provide a range of engineering expertise to operate and maintain the integrity of the relevant system(s)
* Oversee and directly supervise the work of craft/union field forces and/or engineering technicians in a union workforce environment
* Serve as a representative of PSE&G management in the face of the customer as well as other external stakeholders (NJDOT, local municipalities, county, etc.) - this includes customer inquiries, coordination of efforts, technical assistance, and emergency response
* Provide design, analysis, and maintenance support of the relevant infrastructure and/or programs to ensure development and deployment of solutions utilizing established standards, procedures and methodologies
* Perform support in conjunction of on-call duties for division and system emergencies
Job Specific Qualifications

Major Responsibilities• Lead the review and provide comments for electrical design and vendor equipment drawings including array layouts, site electrical distribution plan, one-lines, and grounding drawings.• Lead the review and provide comments for the electrical calculations including short circuit, cable and conduit sizing, grounding, voltage drop, incident energy, and relay coordination.• Conduct field inspections, which require the interpretation and implementation of contract specifications and drawings and report deficiencies.• Assist in developing electrical equipment and installation specifications.• Attend factory witness testing for electrical equipment.• Lead the commissioning and testing program for new commercial solar projects.• Oversee the development of the array layouts and provide layout drawings using AutoCAD.

The successful individual will be able to fulfill an LRE (lead responsible engineer) role for configuration changes and capital projects. These responsibilities include:
Managing, determining and subsequently developing/preparing the applicable design related information associated with a design change.
Verifying that the problem to be solved by the project has been clearly understood and agreed upon by the stakeholders.
Ensuring that conceptual engineering is thorough and reasonable alternatives have been evaluated.
