Salary range is $21.63/hour to $40.86/hour, with a midpoint of $31.25/hour. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under general direction performs warranty administration of all capital system and rolling stock expansions for the Link Light Rail Transit System. Works closely with other agency and operations transition staff to ensure project quality and completeness through verification of completed work, documentation, spare parts, and training. Partners with staff and vendors for warranty monitoring during pre- startup and after the transfer of mechanical, electrical, safety, and other systems. Writes various reports and documents needed to manage or coordinate the required scope of transition maintenance activities with other divisions, programs, department/offices, and outside agencies. Maintains complete records and files essential to a complete warranty program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

* Determines and contributes to negotiation of warranty terms and conditions.
* Ensures warranty terms are properly prepared for and entered into the maintenance management information system (MMIS).
* Reviews and audits warranty processes, to include data entry, inventory quarantine, tracking, MMIS build out, etc.
* Tracks warranty claims and communicates with warranty holders/vendors to insure proper compensation activities.
* Administers all aspects of the warranty policy for LINK/Ops.
* Processes warranty claims on a timely basis for each craft.
* Follows up on outstanding claims.
* Verifies criteria required by contractor and/or manufacturer on warranty requirements.
* Tracks warranty parts by tagging with repair Work Order, date of repair and proper disposition(s).
* Reviews periodically on pending warranty repair parts on Warranty Shelf, taking appropriate action to follow up with contractor.
* Attends weekly warranty meetings, including assisting Warranty Manager with weekly MRB meetings.
* Assists with clerical needs on warranty claims as directed by Warranty Manager.
* Coordinates with each craft on warranty repair, follow up and update warranty Work Order in EAM.
* Liaison with Finance to ensure appropriate processing of financial recompense regarding warranty claims.
* Actively supports inter-governmental agreements (IGA's), including meetings with staff and IGA partners.
* Supports warranty tracking and asset inventory scheduling in the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS).
* Troubleshoots and assesses problems and collaborates with vendors, consultants, partner agencies, and cross-functional teams.
* Reviews policies and procedures relative to feasibility of implementing solutions in a transit environment.
* Acts proactively to anticipate and avoid operational and maintainability challenges.
* Participates in Agency audits, Environmental Sustainability Management system initiatives, and safety and security programs.
* Ensures accountability and compliance with applicable state and federal laws, agency policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Champions and models Sound Transit's core values and demonstrates values-based behaviors in everyday interactions across the agency.

Education and Experience:
