This position is responsible for learning all production, management, and supervision operations of their assigned Midwest Manufacturing production facility.
Primary Responsibilities:
Production
Ensure that all product is built in the most efficient way
Ensure that all orders are filled within an acceptable lead time.
Involved in setting and evaluating production quotas, both quantity and quality
Manage and lead team members in your area
Work with supervisors and managers in your area to accomplish goals
Come up with innovative ideas to improve current processes
Facility Maintenance and Utilization
Keep all production facilities in good repair, orderly, and clean
Use equipment to capacity to fill orders
Safety
Ensure all safety policies are enforced, all training is up to date, and all equipment is guarded and well maintained.
Keep all safety training and maintenance documented
Keep open communication with all Team Members regarding safety issues
Attain the highest profit dollars possible
Balance inventory and reduce stock to ensure maximum turn and in-stock position.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a manufacturing, engineering, or management related field preferred or equivalent management experience
Willing and able to relocate to other plant locations for promotions
Working knowledge of modern sales and management methods and techniques
Able to write and speak clearly and accurately

Key job responsibilities for this role include:
Supporting the Advanced PCL team to assist in improving current business strategy and document processes.
Deliverable 1 - PCL RASIC chart re-deployment
Deliverable 2 - Documented Scope of Work (where process is missing)
Deliverable 3- MRP SAP parameter overview & metrics to improve current internal customer service and overall cost and delivery.
Intern will experience world/business problems and how to solve them. They will actively engage in professional communication, reporting, and metrics. Intern will learn how to create and present business case to decision makers on how to overcome any current obstacles or implement future improvements.
Intern will have a final assessment from the department gaining feedback and final cornerstone project presentation to senior leadership.

This is a part time paid internship position located in Livonia, MI for the winter of 2026. This position has the possibility of extended duration.
As a Project Manager Intern, you will:
Work with the functional groups to understand the requirements of a program, including Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and Engineering
Assist in drafting complex business plans (These business plans detail the operating plans the functional groups will follow to meet the deliverables for the program)
Cost walk creation, monthly financial updates, and financial analysis
Assist in drafting legal documentation, including quotes, proposals and Master Service Agreements (MSA)
Assist in managing the key performance indicators (KPI) data log and documentation associated with the KPIs
Create and revise complex spreadsheets in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
Assist with management of the department asset crib, including asset tagging tools, updating the asset tracking spreadsheet, and coordinating with functional groups to ensure assets are tracked and repaired as needed
Various administrative tasks, including managing office supplies and coordinating department parties
Create presentations for the Contract Manufacturing team
To be considered as a Project Manager Intern, you will need:
Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree focused in Business: Economics, Finance, or related field OR having recently graduated in December 2024 or May 2025
Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident allowing for ITAR compliance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including in-person presentation skills
Strong financial acumen
Ability to think critically and to analyze data and processes to create business plans
Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)
Advanced skills in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
A successful Project Manager Intern could also have:

We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.
As an HDEP Machine Shop intern, you will have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of our series production of our HDEP products. You will work in parallel with the machine, operator and personnel to maintain equipment efficiency. Project support will be aimed at creating process stability / improvements of both CNC machining and automated assembly equipment. You will also contribute to elevating the effectiveness of our Shop Floor Management processes. The Detroit Machine shop intern will have the unique opportunity to directly support the production team with problem solving to drive sporadic and chronic problems to closure. To enable this problem solving, the intern should leverage machine analysis and data to identify issue trends and opportunities for improvement.
Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.
