Join our dynamic Pediatric Hospitalist team in providing care for newborns (including well-newborns, Level II NICU and delivery attendance), pediatric inpatients, and emergency department consults at our state-of-the-art facility located in Augusta, Maine.
Candidates must especially be comfortable with neonatal resuscitation, newborn care and stabilization of critically ill newborns while awaiting transfer to a tertiary care center.
Additional Position Details:
You will join an established team of pediatric hospitalists and adult hospitalists, with a commitment to providing up-to-date, evidence-based care to our local community as well as quality education to our medical learners.
12 or 24-hour shifts available
Provide care independently each shift with in-house support from OB's, midwives, anesthesia, emergency medicine and family practice physicians; pediatric subspecialty/NICU/PICU support available by phone at the state's two children's hospitals (nearest facility 1 hour away by ground).
Teaching responsibilities include 1-2 learners (family medicine residents and medical students) as part of the team on weekdays.
Average daily census of 46 patients.

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, a regional tertiary care and ACS-verified level II trauma center, is actively seeking an additional board-certified/board-eligible fulltime OB/GYN to join our busy hospital-employed practice in a Hospitalist/Nocturnist role.
The role:
* Approximately twelve 14-hour night shifts, with the availability of extra night or day shifts for extra compensation
* Work alongside 8 physicians, 2 certified nurse midwives, 2 nurse practitioners, and skilled support staff
* Provide routine and high-risk obstetric and gynecologic services to a patient population of approximately 500,000 people
* Overnight, the OBGYN is responsible for triage, labor and delivery, antepartum, and transfer patients, as well as postpartum patients needing physician consultation, ED consults, and emergent GYN surgery.
* 24-hour access to Maternal Fetal Medicine consultation via phone, and on-site Anesthesia and NICU colleagues to care for our patients. In addition, we provide consultation services for the Northern Light Family Medicine residency program and have rotating medical students.
There are over 1,600 deliveries per year at NL EMMC and we currently support a level III NICU. We are the referral center for two thirds of the geographical area of Maine and many patients travel 2+ hours to deliver at our hospital.
Our hospital invested in a $300 million tower which opened in 2016. Our modernization project included a complete redesign of our Women & Infants unit including twenty-five private patient rooms, six new labor and delivery rooms, and two new state-of-the-art obstetrics/gynecology surgical suites to complement the level of expertise found at our medical center.

Travel and perform exams at VES leased facility
Schedule Veterans within your own practice

Franklin Hospital is a non-profit, full-service community hospital located in the beautiful western mountain region. The successful candidate willjoin our current highly skilled Hospitalist physician team and supervised APP providers for daytime coverage, and physician nighttime coverage. Daytime shifts will work alongside an APP provider as well as another Hospitalist. The Hospital Medicine Service admits and cares for patients with a range of medical diagnoses. In addition, when appropriate, the team will admit and medically manage orthopedic and surgical patients in consultation with those specialties. Preoperative and ED consultative services are provided. Our Hospitalists also provide critical care, including ventilator management with fulltime onsite Respiratory Therapy support. The ability to perform procedures including intubation, central line placement, lumbar puncture, paracentesis and thoracentesis is preferred but not required.
