Position Summary The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic x-rays procedures for use in the evaluation of patients. The position also performs all clerical functions within the department and reports to the Radiology Department Manager/Supervisor. Job Description Key Outcomes: Performs diagnostic x-rays exams. Receives and evaluates providers' requests and interviews patients to determine views and positions necessary. Practices safe operating procedures and practices radiation safety while performing radiologic services. Performs and assists in daily and monthly quality assurance required for x-ray exams. Is responsible for all radiology correspondence, internally and externally in reference to staff, physicians, and hospitals. Performs all clerical duties, answers telephones, and schedules radiology exams when needed. Ensures all reports are signed by the Radiologist and dated as to the day report is sent to the requesting provider. Ensures that providers receive all reports in a timely fashion. Participates in continuing education and maintains knowledge of developments, trends, and techniques through the reading of technical journals and participation in educational programs. Performs other duties as requested or required. Acquisition and maintenance of supplies. Education/Experience: ARRT is required. Maine State license is required for those who perform duties in a health center located in the State of Maine. Current BLS Certification Skills/Knowledge/Competencies (Behaviors): Demonstrates an understanding of and alignment with Martin's Point Values. Must have a working knowledge of radiographic equipment, procedures and techniques, radiation safety and protection. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with patients and staff.
