Description of Responsibilities : Great customer service skills . Primary duties include receiving, recording, sorting of donations to effectively process through the Kaizen system. Full compliance to Kaizen guidelines/principles as outlined in the audit and 5-minute drills. Meet or exceed set production goals, with specific focus on process improvement and increase productivity. Assist in all areas of the production process and cross train to cover other specified job descriptions as needed. Other duties included but not limited to: donation attendant, merchandising, cleaning and other duties instructed by your immediate supervisors. Must pass background test & drug test.

Required Experience: High School graduate or its equivalent preferred.

Required skills: Must have sufficient mobility to turn from side to side, lean, kneel or bend to perform all processing requirements in the backroom or sales floor; frequent and continued lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds. Sorts donations as outlined by the Kaizen system; follows all processing guidelines; follows pricing guidelines established in the pricing guide. Able to stand for long periods of time; may have to occasionally work where temperatures and climate can fluctuate

Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital, located in Woburn, Ma is looking for a full-time Central Sterile Processing Technician to join the team. This is an entry level position and a great opportunity to join our team of caring and compassionate professionals. We offer benefits starting on your first day!

The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for the cleaning, sterilization, set-up and break-down of all surgical instruments, equipment, and operating rooms. This position is vital in maintaining sterile conditions for all surgeries performed within our specialty hospital.

As an important team member within our hospital environment we are looking for someone to embody our culture in treating every client with the utmost courteous and attentive treatment possible, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets.
Responsibilities:

+ Prep surgical suites for upcoming surgeries

+ Clean surgical suites daily and after surgical procedures

+ Clean surgical instruments

+ Prepare surgical packs for sterilization

+ Properly set up and run sterilization equipment (gas, plasma and steam)

+ Proper stocking of surgical suites including pack area

Qualifications:

+ A strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills learned to daily work life

+ CRCST preferred but not required.

+ Must be self motivated and have the ability to work independently in a fast pace environment

+ Excellent communication and organizational skills are required

+ Basic computer skills and ability to learn our hospital information system

+ Ability to lift 50lbs with or without accommodation

+ High School Diploma and 1 or more years of related job experience

Job Description:
Position:

Central Processing Technician II - KOCH Endoscopy

Responsibilities/Duties:

Decontamination of Instruments, Rigid Scopes and Equipment: Follow Departmental, manufacturer, and regulatory guidelines while performing assigned duties in the decontamination area. Follows Hospital Infection Control practices.

Check decontamination equipment for accurate function. Operate equipment according to Departmental and manufacturer guidelines.
Inspect and prepare surgical instruments for cleaning and decontamination.
Decontaminate surgical instruments, rigid scopes, and equipment.
Receive, tag, and process non-bar-coded instruments from clinical areas and patient floors
Clean and disinfects patient care equipment.

Assembly and Packaging: Fellow Departmental and manufacturer guidelines in the assembly and preparation of surgical instruments.

Assemble all basic instrument sets.
Clean and disinfect patient care equipment and build all basic instrument sets. Assemble all sophisticated/specialty sets once trained.
Demonstrate working knowledge in the assembly and preparation of instrument sets for the appropriate method of sterilization.

Sterile Storage, Distribution, and Case Cart Assembly: Assemble case carts and distribute items in accordance with Departmental policy and procedure

Use the instrument management system to accurately detail the distribution of trays and individual instruments during the case cart assembly and distribution process.
Assemble case carts in the sequence of the surgical schedule in accordance with Pick List.
Place items in case carts to ensure easy access, transparent labels and support good ergonomics.
Minimum Requirements:
Central Processing Certification Required - Not Provisional Status
At this time we are unable to accept provisional status employees. Please apply if you have completed your 400 hours and are fully certified.
High school diploma or G.E.D.
1 - 2 years of clinical medical/surgical experience preferred. New Graduate CRCST's are welcome to apply.
Ability to read, write and understand basic instructions required.
Physical Demands:
Occasional lifting and pushing of medical equipment.
Standing for extended periods of time.
Familiar with handling hazardous chemicals and able to stand for extended periods of time while working in areas with high temperatures
Visual concentration is vital.
Hours:
Split Shift = 12pm - 8pm, Monday through Friday with weekend rotation.
Evening Shift = 3pm - 11pm, Monday through Friday with weekend rotation.
Night Shift = 11pm - 7am, Monday through Friday with weekend rotation.
