Scope: The Production Operator is capable of efficiently operating machinery on product line in Sweeteners equates to either Clouds or Ropaks and maintains documentation with a high degree of accuracy and quality. Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities : Promotes safety and conducts him/herself in accordance with all safety guidelines at all times. Inspects products for defects, and measure products to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments. Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines, within tolerances, as necessary. Reads job orders to determine product specifications to plan operational sequences. Positions, loads, and secures stock material required for production, manually or by using power assisted equipment. Makes minor electrical and mechanical repairs and adjustments to machines and notify supervisor/ maintenance when major service is required. Starts up and shuts down manufacturing equipment following SOPs. Maintains and completes documentation of permanent records for the company and its customers with a high degree of neatness and accuracy. This position will be accountable to develop the brand strategy, deliver monthly business targets, track marketing performance and evaluate ROI effectiveness. This position is highly visible within the organization and requires close cross functional partnership with key internal constituents including Sales, R&D, Finance and Procurement. As a leader within the marketing function the role will have broad exposure to senior management and need to build data driven plan recommendations to move the business forward. Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities: * Define propose and monitor the implementation of the company's maintenance and reliability objectives with key overall objectives of improving overall line efficiency and reducing unplanned downtime associated with breakdowns. * Responsible for the maintenance/repair of all equipment in the liquid plants. * Implement work processes and procedures related to maintenance including the management of PM and PdM programs. * Train, develop and mentor maintenance employees to ensure future growth objectives can be accomplished. Includes troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. * Ensure maintenance function operates with clear and open communications. Key technical resources for the issue escalation, MOC and project design review processes. * Promote a continuous improvement culture by developing processes to analyze data to solve reliability problems and reduce unplanned downtime using MTTF, PM frequency, FMEA and implementing reliability initiatives * Ensure spare parts inventory is optimized and aligned to support operations objectives. * Protect proprietary technology through approved and certified relationships with third party companies * Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget. * Manage all outsourced contractors as needed and all other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * BS Degree in Engineering. * 10-15 years of progressive and diversified "Maintenance Management" with minimum of 5 years' experience in food and beverage manufacturing. * Strong experience in Continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, TPM, maintenance programs, equipment installation, and automation. * Interpersonal skills and track record of teamwork, leadership, adaptability, coaching, and taking initiatives. * Ability to read electrical schematics, P&ID, construction drawings, and other related work documents. * Familiar with maintenance program management, CMMS, GMPs, SOP's development * Prior maintenance management experience * Experience with high-speed packaging equipment required. This includes all Quality activities related to artwork creation, maintenance, and revisions. * Manages the receiving and Ingredient and Finished Product COA process. * Responsible for Supplier Quality pre-requisite program: * Vendor Approval * Approval of RAW/PACKs * Vendor Performance Management and Review, aligned with Procurement. Supplier SCAR management, investigation and reporting * Drives compliance with regulations foreign and domestic by preparing the organization with information about consumer and industry trends, emerging threats, and evolving laws and regulations. This includes establishing systems to ensure compliance with all legal requirements. * Management of Databases and Team Rooms for these processes. * Act as back up for Verification and Audit Manager. * Serve as alternate SQF practitioner, responsible and authorized for ensuring company fulfills all requirements of the current SQF code. * Responsible for driving compliance and maintenance of all certifications - including GFSI, cGMP, Kosher, Halal, Organic, Non-GMO Certified, Identity Preserved, Gluten-free, and others as needed. * Ensures compliance with Mock Recall and item traceability requirements (FDA/customer) including running trace exercises and maintaining company knowledge and resources to perform. * Assist Sales, Legal Team, International Sales, and International Quality teams with regulatory and technical inquiries, certificates, advice and program knowledge. * All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field with at least 5 years of relevant food manufacturing experience is required. * Familiarity with current good manufacturing practices and food regulation is required. * Prior experience with labeling and claims. * Six Sigma or process improvement experience and SQF practitioner certification desired. * Excellent attention to detail. * Familiar with FSMA requirements. * Previous leadership experience. * Process improvement skills (e.g. Six Sigma). * Proficient command of English and strong communication skills required - both verbal and written. * Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills. * Must have the ability to perform under pressure and communicate well with all departments. * Must have good computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. This unique cross-functional internship will provide hands-on learning opportunity supporting both Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives and Engineering projects. The intern will gain practical safety and engineering experience by assisting in projects which will reduce or eliminate identified hazards within the workplace therefore reducing the overall risk levels associated with such hazards.
