Primary areas of responsibility include supervision of 50 competitive sports student personnel, oversight of intramural programs, and assisting in the program budget. In addition, the Graduate Assistant of Competitive Sports is expected to promote and facilitate effective communication and collaboration across all efforts of the department, university and community partners. Primary Responsibilities: Intramural Sports - Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive collegiate competitive sports program including intramural and extramural. Interpret rules as they pertain to the policies and program offerings. Develop, promote, implement, and facilitate special events. Coordinate and monitor the eligibility and registration of all intramural/extramural entries, memberships and preparation of play. Evaluate each aspect of the areas of oversight and compile statistical data on assessment, program evaluation, participation and satisfaction Staff - Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating student staff and provide the ability to help others set and achieve goals. Provide leadership and guidance, promoting integrity, accountability and teamwork. Create a culture of feedback to improve operations and services. Develop and maintain working relationships and positively influence and motivate staff. Club Sports - Assist with administering a comprehensive Club Sports Program of 38 sports with 1,000+ participants in a public university of over 30,000 students. Supervise, mentor, train and evaluate Club Sports Presidents. Foster club president leadership development and management skills/principles. Assist clubs in budgeting, traveling, recruiting and marketing efforts. Coordinate with facilities to schedule practices, special events, and home competitions. Develop president training for president training intended for over 50 club members. Other - Actively contribute as a staff member of the Department of Well-Being & Recreation and Division of Student Affairs. Promote and facilitate effective communication and collaborative efforts across all department, divisional, university and community partners.
