CentraState Medical Center has an employment opportunity available for a FoodServiceWorker- Utility/Dishwasher. This position involves working in the dish room, cleaning pots and pans, discarding garbage, mopping floors, restocking supplies.
Type: Part-Time (15hrs / week)
Hours: Mostly 4:30p-8:30p but can vary. Every other weekend required.
Responsibilities
Keeps work area and equipment clean and sanitary at all times.
Sets up assigned area and maintains adequate supplies during shift.
Presents and garnishes food in an attractive manner.
Prepares food and beverages for all meals as assigned including catered events.
Assembles food and supplies for assigned departments and makes deliveries to units.
Assembles food and supplies for assigned departments and stocks unit pantries following department specific procedures.
Delivers food trucks and individual patient trays to all units as assigned.
Stay up-to-date with all health and safety requirements, being sure to follow each of them as closely as possible
Listen to customer feedback and respond to complaints in a professional manner
Follows daily scheduled utility cleaning guidelines as assigned.
Adheres to State Sanitation codes and regulations.
Documents dish machine temperatures according to department policy.
Supports all utility positions in the kitchen including, but not limited to, performing porter functions, operating dish room and pot and pan station.
Maintains all assigned work areas.
Maintains clean equipment at all times.
Sweeps, mops, removes garbage throughout all kitchen areas.
Cleans kitchen equipment including slicers, ovens, fryers, skillets, hand sinks, etc.
Scrapes and washes all patient dishes, patient trays, all patient tray items, pots and pans, and maintaining sanitary conditions for all cleaned items.
Sets-up and breaks-down assigned areas and maintains adequate supplies during shift.
Cleans walk-in refrigerator and freezers.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Basic command of English language (speaking, reading, writing) and basic math skills required to ensure correct performance in duties, understanding and following instructions, dietary restrictions, etc for patient, resident and employee safety.
Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team and customers.
Must be able to adapt to circumstances that arise and be able to make decisions quickly to problem solve any issues that may develop.

Compensation Range: $16.00 - $25.60 per hour

SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job) Ensures tray line is stocked appropriately using menu and production sheets in a timely manner before each meal service. Ensures tray line is set up with the appropriate items before meal service to ensure efficiency of tray line. Serves appropriate portions and selections on patient tray line and late tray service to ensure patient nutritional requirements are met. Follows Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food and when cleaning work stations and breaking down patient tray line. EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
EXPERIENCE: Prior related experience preferred, but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Requires the ability to walk, stand and reach for long periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Good hand/eye coordination also required. Requires working in adverse conditions, such as: wet floors, extreme change of temperature, sharp/dangerous equipment, and hot foods and liquids.
