CentraState Medical Center's new Cardiovascular Interventional suite offers the complete integration of leading-edge imaging and technology to diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular disease and other conditions using minimally invasive alternatives to surgical procedures. Our ‘Suite” team consists of expert Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Electrophysiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Radiology technologists and Registered Nurses collaborating to provide innovative personalized care to our community.
The Cardiovascular Interventional Suite is currently seeking a Cardiovascular Data & Quality Coordinator. This position serves as a key resource for tracking, trending, and coordinating data and performance metrics across the Cardiovascular Service Line. Responsibilities include the development of EPIC reports and oversight of NCDR, VQI, and accreditation registry submissions. The coordinator also works in close partnership with educational teams and hospital units to advance nationally recognized standards of care.
Responsibilities
Coordinates data and performance measures within the Cardiovascular Service Line.
Abstracts data and report outcomes for VQI, NCDR and Accreditation.
Attends Registry in person and on line meetings.
Tracks and trends clinical documentation and standards of care for the Cardiovascular, Endovascular and Interventional service line.
Assists quality manager to develop processes to ensure the delivery of evidenced based practices in alignment with regulatory and societal guidelines and standards of care.
Assists quality manager in development of policies and procedures.
Develops EPIC reports for the utilization of quality tracking and trending.
Maintains dashboards for Cardiovascular, Endovascular and lnterventional Radiology service lines.
Assists in the implementation of new data and quality registries VQI (TCAR, Carotid, Endovascular and Aortic).
Promotes innovation within clinical practice and seeks opportunities to bring new clinical knowledge into practice.
Participates in ACC/SCAI conferences and poster presentations.
Develops new programs by assisting leadership and quality manager to drive standards of care.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic, Cardiovascular, or Cardiopulmonary Technology program.
Current cardiac catheterization experience of 1-2 years required or equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.
NJ State License required.
ARRT Certification required.
RCIS or RCVT Certifications preferred, or eligible to be certified as RCIS or RCVT.
Basic knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, radiographic exposure, physics and hemodynamics.

Implements Actions to Prevent Readmission: Collaborates with medical staff to recommend referrals for outpatient care, home health or other community agencies as indicated. Provides post-discharge follow-up by conducting or delegating the telephone evaluation of discharge plan.
Participates in frequent utilizer measures: Works to establish interventions to manage high hospital and ED utilizers.
Initiates discharge planning: Conducts screenings for social determinants of health and initial discharge planning assessments for patients admitted through the emergency department. Refers when necessary to Social Worker.
Supports patient flow: Intervenes to expedite the completion of diagnostic tests needed to determine disposition, offers alternatives to admission when appropriate, engages in boarder rounds to determine any needed changes in disposition.
Maintains knowledge of Federal, State, and other regulatory agency rules and regulations: Including The Joint Commission, CMS, Medicare, including but not limited to, knowledge of CMS rules regarding Observation status, the 2 Midnight Rule, and Medicare Inpatient Only Procedures.
Maintains knowledge of continuum of cares resources: Provides education and resources relevant to the effective progression of care, utilization of services, appropriate level of care, and safe patient transition to the patient/family and health care team.
Identifies potential risk management and/or quality issues: Works with the healthcare team to resolve such issues or refer them through the Chain of Command structure to the appropriate resource/committee

Works with Nursing Supervisor/Administrative Coordinator to assign float pool appropriately based on unit needs. Enters assigned units for float pool and safety companions in the API scheduling system.
Receives call-outs, makes a notation in the call-out log, and notifies the appropriate unit. Enters the call-out into the API system, accurately using UPTO or Unpaid Absence as appropriate. Crosses the employee off the staffing sheet and adjusts staffing number.
Deals with special situations regarding inclement weather procedures, including travel advisory situations, and non-payment of weather-related call-outs. Appropriately handles telephone calls from staff seeking sleeping accommodations and/or travel assistance.
Accurately enters all data into API scheduling system, including extra shifts, call-outs, switches, education, etc. Enters notes on the schedule as appropriate.
Communicates with nurse managers/clinical leaders/charge RNs regarding current staff and further staffing needs for the day.
