What You Bring/Job Requirements

  • Must have successfully completed a residency or fellowship commensurate with area of specialty.
  • Obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration;
  • Be board certified or eligible in the appropriate specialty, by a board acceptable to Hospital;
  • Obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Centura Health system, at sponsoring institution
  • Doctorate MD or DO required
  • DR-Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in applicable state required

This is an intermediate coding position that codes and abstracts Outpatient records for data retrieval, analysis, reimbursement and research. Codes and enters diagnostic and procedure codes into the designated coding and abstracting system utilizing the 3M encoder, as appropriate. Meets quality and productivity coding standards and demonstrates the ability to navigate an EMR. Ability to code designated outpatient type at any Centura facility.

**What You Bring/Job Requirements**

+ A minimum of 2-year coding experience, preferably in an acute care setting, or Completion of the Centura internal coding program

+ Must demonstrate competency of outpatient coding guidelines and APC assignment

+ Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and emails and troubleshooting computer problems

+ Experience successfully working in a remote environment, preferred

+ High School Diploma or GED, required.

+ Associate's Degree, Preferred.

+ Current AHIMA credentials (i.e. RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC credentials (COC, CIC, CPC-H, CPC), required or must be certified within one year of hire

The Coding Auditor-Educator is an advanced level position utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10 PCS, and CPT-4 Coding Classification systems who supports the facility and Coding Service Center. Responsible for answering coding and billing questions, onboarding and training new staff, performing coding audits, and development and deployment of coding education. Works in conjunction with the Coding Service Center leadership team in planning and performing coding education and training across the system.

Responsible for performing internal audits and follow up education. Facilitates and promotes standardization of coding practices, monitors and communicates regulatory coding and billing changes for timely and accurate implementation. Participates in short-term and long-term strategic planning with regard to compliant coding and regulatory billing practices.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

* 5 years coding experience in an acute care setting coding all types of hospital visits/admits with a high degree of skill in inpatient and outpatient expertise is required.
* 2 years' experience in internal auditing and/or coding education; prefer multi-healthcare setting experience
* Software/Hardware: Epic and 3M 360 experience required.
* Must demonstrate competency of inpatient and outpatient coding and guidelines.
* Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* High School Diploma/GED, required
* Associate or Bachelor's degree in HIM, preferred
* Current AHIMA credentials (i.e. RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P RCC) or AAPC credential (COC, CIC, CPC, CPC-H) required and maintained.

This is an advanced level coding position that codes and abstracts Outpatient records for data retrieval, analysis, reimbursement and research. Codes and enters diagnostic and procedure codes into a designated coding and abstracting system utilizing the 3M encoder, as appropriate. Meets quality and productivity coding standards and demonstrates the ability to navigate an EMR. Ability to code across all Centura facilities.

The Coder II is a senior level professional fee coding position with at least three (3) or more years' experience in multiple specialties; coding both inpatient and outpatient professional fee services. Coder II staff key duties include reviewing documentation to assign appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 diagnosis codes, resolve edits in WQs (charge review, claim edit, and follow up), and review denials for possible corrected claims or appeals. Coder II will work with clinic supervisors and/or providers to resolve coding issues and questions, following applicable payer rules and guidelines. This individual will also work with members of the Revenue Management team to address coding issues and concerns.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in professional fee coding required.
  • Experience with the electronic health record (EHR) and health care applications required. Epic experience preferred.

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
