Founded in 1973 by Dennis Bearden, Century A/C is a privately-owned company serving residential and commercial air conditioning contractors, the apartment industry, schools and government entities, and industrial companies throughout the state of Texas.
From humble beginnings in 1973 to being a choice provider for HVAC/R parts and equipment across Texas, Century's rich history has paved the way to setting the bar for outstanding service.
In 1998, Century found a home in the San Antonio area after establishing Core Distributing.
Not long after, in 2001, Century added Major Supply to the list of acquisitions, which then led to the opening of additional Houston area branches.
2007: The percentage of US homes with air conditioning reaches 86 percent.
With continued growth, in March 2008, Century added Johnson A/C Supply to its family and expanded into the Dallas area.
2010: The percentage of homes with air conditioning in the Puget Sound area was estimated at only 14%.
2015: Today, in excess of 100 million US homes have air conditioning, and that number is growing all the time.
Growth and expansion continued and in 2019, Century had a total of 26 locations throughout the state of Texas.
In 2020, Century A/C Supply entered into a new partnership with Rheem.
