2000

In winter, the cool, moisture laden westerly winds are forced to rise by the Skurweberg and Koue Bokkveld mountains from sea-level to more than 2000 metres.

2012

Since breaking out of orbit around the giant protoplanet Vesta in September 2012, the spaceship has patiently flown in interplanetary cruise.

From its 2012 initial public offering that raised $65 million until its acquisition, it was listed on the NASDAQ exchange.

In 2012, the largest shareholders were Artal Luxembourg, Warburg Pincus, Ambergate Trust, and Oxford Bioscience, while biotechnology company Monsanto had 4.8% stake.

2015

In March 2015, the Dawn spacecraft arrived at Ceres to make NASA’s first visit to a dwarf-planet.

2016

On June 21, 2016, Ceres was acquired by Land O'Lakes for $17.2 million.
