The Capital Equipment Consultant-Microbiology is responsible for positioning Microbiology solutions into hospitals and reference laboratories. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager, Microbiology and is a remote field sales role part of the Beckman Coulter Microbiology located out of Baltimore, MD, or Washington DC. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: * Accurately anticipate the needs of customers and execute on a sales strategy to help us become the technical vendor of choice * Drive and own core growth by both footprint expansion and retaining and growing base business. * Call on accounts in your sales territory as well as prioritize sales activities in the accounts in an active sales cycle (existing and competitive) to position Beckman Coulter solutions to meet customer needs * Implement the sales plan designed to achieve established sales and financial goals * Work remotely in your home office; and work with customers in the field. * Effectively link Beckman Coulter's Microbiology solutions to the customers' technical, financial and business needs. * Strategically leverages internal and external resources including Service, Applications, Field Product Specialists, Leadership and Client Services to build and execute agreed upon strategy. The essential requirements of the job include: * Bachelor's degree in field with 5 + years sales experience selling capital equipment into the hospital or laboratory OR Master's degree in field with 2+ years expertise in field OR Doctoral degree in field with 0+ years experience * Bachelor's Degree Required (preferably in science or business) * Excellent time and territory management habits as well as follow up and follow through skills * Strong communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to clearly, concisely and accurately conduct a technical presentation * Program and sales management skills, be highly organized, motivated, and success driven within a team environment (Salesforce knowledge helpful) Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: * Will travel to customer locations where you may have to stay overnight depending on the location of your home.
