I've seen the Print City source code. It was great but had several problems that I can't/won't divulge. The fact that it was written by one guy who then left is enough to keep us from putting it into a client's hands without a significant amount of rework. Then there's the issue of, who supports it? What mnemonic are you working under now so I can look up their CCO and laugh?

> Don't like it? Find employment elsewhere. I really wish there was more I could do as an individual to improve working conditions for myself and others.
Thanks for your insight..Im currently salaried and I asked the question of whether we would continue to be salaried or hourly, I was told we would still be salaried so I shall see how that plays out.
Cerner offers many different opportunities. There are a wide variety of different technologies to work with. If at first you do not find a good job fit, it is possible to move to another role that is more appropriate.
Hours can be a bit demanding depending on the role. Some roles are more demanding than others. Customers can also be a bit demanding at times. While these are things that are not the most fun at times, they are things I can easily work through.
One of my favorite perks would be the campus I work at. My campus is filled with game rooms and libraries. We also have a maker space which is a lot of fun. This campus is conducive to creativity.
Very strong management and direction for their employees.
Too stressful sometimes.
Good matching 401k and benefits and decent starting pay.
Remote
Laid off after 6 months, no communication about federal projects, they do not respect their employees
Remote
Work-life balance and company accommodations
On the computer all day long
Gym, pharmacy, and cafeteria on site
I love the Applications that I worked for. They were mainly for hospitals. And the work culture was very cool.
Some weekends we working ones. but thats okay, just that there is no major negative to be mentioned,. I am stating this one.
My desk. which might not be a perk anymore due to COVID
Great Benefits
If you have a job in customer support, the company simply does not care about you in any capacity
Internal Health Care Opportunities
The people were dedicated to creating a better healthcare world
Too much travel
Campus was modern
I loved the team I was on.
Very little upward movement, and not paid enough.
Ability to take PTO.
I enjoy the large variety of positions within Cerner that promote a competitive work environment with room for growth
The management can be inconsistent with what they say they value and what they actually force onto their associates. The numbers matter more at the end of the day regardless of the culture they say they value. This leads to unrealistic expectations and pressures to perform
Free gym is a plus
The coworkers were great, it was casual enough, and people helped each other.
Higher management put profits over people, and made bad short term business decisions.
The people and teams.
Stress and having to explain to users that that things are broken but you have no way to fix them.
Flexible hours
Opportunities to grow and challenging projects.
Work life balance.
Gym availability
Flexibility is nice. Culture is very young.
Hours worked can be difficult at times and expectations are very high. Being it's such a large company some of the people you work with don't have the same motivations or drive.
Travel perks that come along with the job.
The teams are welcoming and enjoyable.
The extensive hours and disregard for work-life balance
Free gym membership
Laid back environment.
Rigged management structure and low reward for work you put in.
Free gym
Cerner truly cares about you as an employee. It's a great, creative and collaborative work environment. It's truly a great place to work.
Depending on your role, you may travel or work odd hours, so that can be a lot but there's also reward with this. Such as crucial on-site experience and also, building up gold status for hotels, rental cars and flights :).
On-site fitness center along with daily fitness classes for free. Also, your primary care doctor, pharmacy, therapist and healthe coach are all in house and about 1,000 feet from your desk.
We have been ITWx since Jan 29 of this year. I haven't seen any compensation changes so far.
