The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) Part-Time Medical Provider collaborates with the CAC team and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) conducting medical evaluations for children involved in allegations of abuse referred by Law Enforcement and/or the Department of Social Services. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive medical assessments and examinations, documenting findings in detailed medical reports, and providing recommendations based on the evaluation. Each evaluation should include a review of medical history, current concerns, and presenting allegations. All medical providers must meet eligibility requirements and be rostered through the North Carolina Child Medical Evaluation Program (NCCMEP).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: North Carolina Board Certified License in the following: Medical Doctor (M.D), Physician Assistant (P.A), Nurse Family Practitioner (N.F.P), and/or Nurse Practitioner (N.P) with preferred pediatric experience. Must be licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina. All degrees must be received from an appropriately accredited institution.
Experience: A minimum of two years of experience working in a pediatric or primary care medical setting is required. Knowledge, experience and rostered through NCCMEP to perform child abuse medical evaluations is preferred. If not rostered through NCCMEP (North Carolina Child Medical Evaluation Program), candidate must be willing to attend and successfully complete certification immediately upon employment.
Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and web management. Valid driver's license in state of residence. Reasonable accommodation may be provided for those who are able to perform the essential duties of the job. The incumbent must be able to pass any required drug test. Background investigation required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide comprehensive evaluations on children that require specialized knowledge of evidentiary child physical abuse, sexual abuse and/or neglect. All evaluations of children will be referred by law enforcement or Department of Social Services due to reports of suspected child sexual abuse, child physical abuse and/or neglect.
2. Ensure forensically sound and age-appropriate examinations per CAC North Carolina and National Children's Alliance Standards and NC-CMEP.
3. Provide clear and precise written documentation and photo-documentation of all medical findings resulting from abuse and/or neglect of children and provide any
diagnoses and address medical conditions resulting from abuse and/or neglect of children who are being served at Carolyn's Kaleidoscope Child Advocacy Center in a timely and orderly manner.
4. Differentiate any medical findings that are indicative of abuse from those which may be explained by other medical conditions.
5. Maintain accurate and clear medical records of all child assessments, follow-ups, and evaluations. Provide assessments of children for any developmental, emotional or behavioral problems needing further evaluation and treatment and make referrals as necessary.
6. Reassure and provide any medical education needed to the child and their family.
7. Provide documentation of participation in expert review with an advanced medical provider on at least 50% of abnormal exams for CAC case tracking and review purposes.
8. Work collaboratively with law enforcement and Department of Social Service agencies.
9. Maintain a professional and positive working relationship with all referral service providers and CAC multidisciplinary team members.
10. Attend meetings with other agencies, providers, and community resources to enhance collaboration with community and educate providers and systems on the medical services provided at the CAC.
11. Provide the CAC Multidisciplinary Team members with the final assessment of the child evaluation and all findings. Provide findings of the child medical evaluation in a routine, timely and meaningful recommendation.
12. Provide timely responses to all judicial subpoenas and testify in court as an expert witness, when necessary.
13. Provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to victims of child abuse and neglect and incorporate the mission and vision of Carolyn's Kaleidoscope Child Advocacy Center.
14. Assist with crisis situations, high risk challenging clients and families, and provide clinical consultation to staff when needed.
15. Must provide extended flexible accessibility, including weekends and holidays during emergency situations as determined by CAC Director.
16. Any other related duties required by Director, Chief of Community Based Services and/or CEO.

Job Duties and Functions: The SOF Medic SME shall reside within the RRTEG and must have a clear understanding of the MRR and MRB organization, structure, and mission in order to perform training, coordination and implementation of all functions, and all other duties, responsibilities, and actions necessary to support RTEG activities.
The Medic SME shall perform all tasks associated with this position such as:
• Interface with RRTEG Staff and supported units.

• In coordination with appropriate MARSOC medical personnel, develop and maintain training affiliation agreements and/or memorandums of understanding with civilian trauma centers in order to facilitate trauma center rotations for MARSOF medical personnel.
• Maintain knowledge and proficiency in current SOF medical critical task lists in accordance with USSOCOM 350-29.
Experience:
• Former Senior SOF Medic (E7-E9), Physician Assistant, Medical Corps Officer, or Medical Service Corps Officer with extensive experience managing SOF medical programs and personnel.
• Must have 6 years of SOF medical experience to include award and retention of SOF Military Occupational Specialty Qualification (MOS Q).
• Minimum of 3 deployments as a maneuver element SOF medic OR extensive deployed experience conducting medical planning and/or medical support to operations across the full spectrum of SOF missions.
• 3 Years' experience in Conception, Modeling, Development, and Coordination of tactical medical scenarios, prolonged field care scenarios, and 3 Years of formal instructor duty.
• Must possess a current driver's license.
• Must possess a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Current or former member of a Joint Trauma System Defense Committee on Trauma (e.g. Committee on En-route Combat Casualty Care, Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Committee on Surgical Combat Casualty Care) OR current or former member of the Committee on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care.
• Strong interest in military medicine, global SOF medical activities, and patient care in austere/remote settings.
• Graduate of the Joint Special Operations Medical Training Center with a Current USSOCOM Advance Tactical Paramedic certification OR 3 years' experience managing down-trace maneuver element SOF medics within the previous 4 years.
• Current National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic.

Provide coverage or back-up for Emergency Services during clinical hours and on-call coverage after hours and on weekends as needed.
Maintain licensure as required by licensing board and attend educational trainings/seminars to remain up-to-date on current best practices.
Maintain positive working relationships within the communities served, including with individuals, families, staff, monitoring and licensing agencies, organizations, funding resources, and other human service agencies.

Support Services
Assist persons served by teaching skills as outlined in their PCP and the service definition under which they are providing service to promote a higher level of independence, including but not limited to the following: social skills, personal hygiene, budgeting, anger management, meal preparation, grocery shopping, maintaining their living arrangement, job searches, interviewing, self advocacy and symptom management.
Support the person served in understanding and exercising their rights
Provide support services in a manner that is safe, therapeutic, and free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation
Ensure clients health, safety and well-being are monitored daily,
Consistent, documented bed monitoring conducted every 15 minutes on any shift that the consumer is in the room asleep, especially on 3rd shift.
Support the persons served by maintaining the best possible health by following the PCP including but are not limited to the following: nutrition plans, health care plans, exercise regimes
Assist the persons served in accessing community resources including but not limited to the following: accessing civic organizations and benefits

Supervision and Training Provided to Employee: The office will provide initial training, while on-going training and supervision is provided on by the supervisor.
Physical Effort: A variety of physical activities are necessary for this position and depending upon the needs of the consumers of the agency. There will also be interaction with consumers served at each location which entails moving ambulatory and non-ambulatory consumers or interaction with consumers which could require therapeutic holds. The position requires working with consumers with mental and physical disabilities that display verbal and/or physical aggression and property destruction.
Work Environment and Conditions: The Paraprofessional works primarily in the community in order to ensure the quality and provision of services to the consumers. For residential services, depending on the shift worked, much of the service might be provided in the residence
