JOB SUMMARY
The Sample Receiving Associate is responsible for entering data into the Certified Laboratories Information Management System (LIMS) in a timely and accurate manner.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Logging of customer samples into the LIMS system with accuracy. Uses products as needed.
Ensure timeliness, accuracy and reliability work.
Ensures adherence to the daily work schedule.
Makes suggestions and recommendations regarding product/specs. that would aid in logging.
Perform clerical review to ensure accuracy.
Ensures all samples are labeled correctly and stored at the appropriate temperatures until testing can occur.
Ensure the sample receiving room is cleaned and maintained.
Participates in special projects as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.
Keeps the Manager/Supervisor informed of issues or problems within the department.
Interacts with clients, suppliers and vendors as required.
Learns new techniques and technologies and trains others as appropriate.
Works effectively with other departments.
Responsible for the execution of all ISO and QC requirements.
Performs all other duties as required or assigned.
Stocks/orders supplies as needed (labels, boxes etc.)
Assists with the return of customer coolers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
AS degree in Science and appropriate industry specific experience or BS degree.

Job Description
The Lab Assistant within the Media Department is responsible for preparing, sterilizing, and organizing media and reagents essential to analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples. This role ensures the availability of accurate, sterile materials to support testing operations while maintaining laboratory safety and compliance standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain bacteriological media and chemical solutions.
Safely operate an autoclave to sterilize media, reagents, and supplies.
Label, handle, store, use, and dispose of media and solutions in accordance with safety guidelines.
Maintain an accurate inventory of prepared media and supplies.
Collaborate with other departments to prepare required media in a timely manner.
Perform work in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner; maintain cleanliness and equipment within the department.

Main activities:

YOUR PROFILE
* A general knowledge of food testing methods or scientific processes obtained from a degree in Chemistry (preferred), Microbiology, Food Science, or direct relevant laboratory experience is preferred to provide support to the customers of the company.
* Three (3) plus years experience in a Customer Service food or beverage industry.
* Laboratory experience, specializing in Chemistry, is desired. BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience will be considered.
* A clear understanding of Chemistry testing methods as a priority, and will need to be able to communicate information related to testing methods and results to clients in an efficient and timely manner.
* A general knowledge of LIMS and CRM software systems are required to complete data entry and result searches for the client.

YOUR PROFILE

Work Environment: The incumbent works in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control.
