Job Responsibilities
This professional staff person is responsible for gathering pertinent clinical information and performing treatments in the outpatient clinic/medical office setting. The Medical Assistant performs CLIA waived testing, administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical practice. In addition, the Medical Assistant performs a range of services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs for continuity of care. Such duties may include but are not limited to making referrals to outside providers, gathering reports from other facilities, and coordination of other healthcare related services.
