The CertifiedMedicalAssistant is responsible for assisting in providing clinical care to select patients under the supervision of the professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner and provides clerical office assistance.
Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center's Multiple Sclerosis Center, a leading provider of care for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) in New Jersey, has been officially recognized as a Center for Comprehensive MS Care through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Partners in MS Care program. It is one of only two Centers for Comprehensive MS Care in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Patients have access to complete diagnostic testing specifically designed for MS and emerging therapies available through clinical trials. They receive assistance with appointments and scheduling, providing convenience by allowing for multiple consultations in one visit
CMA will also assist with certain neurological testing. Hours are Mon- Fri 8:30a-5p

Responsibilties:
A day in the life of a CertifiedMedicalAssistant at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
Prepares exam room, treatment room, supplies and instruments.
Prepares patients for physician visit and examination assisting as directed.
Takes patient's vital signs and records in medical chart.
Understands proper function and care of special equipment.
Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test as indicated after a performance evaluation checklist completion. Also performs UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab testing as indicated after performance evaluation checklist completion.
Maintains records by completing patient records as directed; file record and reports.
Assists with collections/billing procedures as needed.

Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 5 lbs. and stands a minimum of 1 hour a day

We are currently seeking a CertifiedMedicalAssistant (CMA) to join our Physician Services team. The CMA will play a key role in supporting providers by assisting in clinical care and performing clerical duties to ensure high-quality patient service in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare examination and treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper equipment setup.
Assist patients in preparation for exams and procedures.
Take and record vital signs accurately in patient charts.
Perform EKGs, PFTs, Audiometry, Titmus Tests, and other clinical screenings (after competency evaluation).
Conduct lab services including phlebotomy, UDS, and BAT (after competency evaluation).
Maintain and update patient records and charts.
Assist in billing and collections procedures as needed.
Use EMR systems for appointment scheduling, data entry, and office workflow support.
Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
Provide culturally competent care tailored to patient needs, including communication accommodations for age, language, or sensory impairment.
Participate in organizational training, adhere to standards of behavior, and perform other duties as assigned.
Physically able to lift at least 5 lbs., push/pull at least 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours daily.

**Job Responsibilities:**

Communicates with residents, family, and staff on an as needed basis to meet resident needs. Participates in care conferences with residents and family members to discuss resident needs and appropriate service delivery in association with service plan updates.
Responsible for screening, hiring, training, and supervising all Care Partner staff and activity staff in the Specified Care Area. Ensures they and any employees reporting to them work in a safe manner and that unsafe actions are corrected. Compliance with Safety Committee Standards is required. Should workplace injuries occur, when required, the Department Heads and Directors assist the Executive Director with the investigation, return to work, and management of the injured worker communication with care provider and the management company.
Fosters teamwork with co-workers, shows initiative in overcoming obstacles, takes actions which assist others beyond job responsibilities, and has a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors. Has working knowledge of the organization.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate or Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred in a field related to this position.
Must have prior supervisory/management experience.
Minimum three years' experience in assisted living or memory care preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to communicate verbally in person and over the phone.
May need to possess applicable state certifications such as CHHA/CNA, Med-Tech.

***Sign-On Bonus Details: As part of our commitment to attracting and retaining exceptional talent, Center for Oral & Facial Surgery is offering a sign-on bonus of $3,000 USD. We are looking for great assistants and will reward for early commitment and continued contribution to our team. The bonus will be paid in two installments:
50% ($1,500) will be included in the first paycheck following date of hire
The remaining 50% ($1,500) will be paid upon successful completion of four months of employment.
Required Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent
BLS Certification (or completed within 1 month of hire)
Dental Xray License is required
Strong teamwork and independent work capabilities, demonstrating good judgment and critical thinking
Passion for ensuring safety and exceptional attention to detail, vigilance, and meticulousness
Basic computer proficiency
Excellent manual dexterity and superior listening skills, especially in emergency scenarios
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous oral surgery experience is beneficial
Licensed dental assistant status is preferred
DAANCE certification is desirable
