Surgical Tech - Requirements :
HS Diploma or GED plus short-term training in operating room setting or graduate of surgical technician certification from an accredited school or training program required.
Current BLS required
Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment and a working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
Minimum of 2+ years experience in a hospital or outpatient operating room if not from an accredited training program.

We're seeking a MedicalAssistant/Phlebotomist to join our team of compassionate caregivers. Our 25-bed critical access hospital allows our compassionate caregivers to provide excellent patient care in an environment that supports them in their professional growth and development with the latest technologies. Cibola General Hospital is one hour from Albuquerque and close to Santa Fe. Known for its mild year-round climate and outdoor activities, Grants NM offers low property taxes and inexpensive housing costs.
Cibola General Hospital provides services in general surgery, 24-hour Emergency care, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Pathology, Pediatric Dentistry, Podiatry, Primary Care and Radiology with X-ray, CT, MRI. We have three operating rooms including a room for scopes. Clinics, Lab services, Pharmacy, Cardiopulmonary, and Rehab, and skilled care beds are provided.
JOB SUMMARY AND SCOPE:
The MedicalAssistant I is responsible for assisting providers with the care and treatment of patients. This will include taking patients back, recording by documentation to the record weight, blood pressure, and other vitals per clinic policy; assisting with exams; CLIA waived testing as needed. This position will also cover for the receptionist when the receptionist is not able to work.
PRINICIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Call patients back and record the necessary vitals in the medical record.
Assist with procedures.
Run CLIA waived tests (dipstick urine, accu check, pregnancy etc.)
Phone calls to patients for follow ups or to schedule appointments for test results.
Schedule referrals and prepare and send records if necessary.
Pull records and place results on them for the providers review.
Triage phone calls and emergency visits when necessary.
Maintain the proper format of the medical record per Office Policies
Ordering of necessary supplies.
Assist with filing of records 11. Back up for Receptionist.
Follow the Code of Conduct and Office Policies and Procedures.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Certified MA or CNA Preferred
CPR Certification
Proficient in the use of a computer and other office equipment (fax, calculator, copier etc.)
Ability to run CLIA waived tests
Ability to administer meds/vaccines by injection
Proficient in reading and documentation of medical records
Strong verbal and writing communication skills
Good interpersonal ability
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires ability to perform simple manipulative skills frequently; requires hand-eye coordination skills; walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods; see objects clearly and hear normal sounds with some background noises; some lifting. Works under frequent stress; must be able to communicate effectively and multi-task several tasks at one time.
