What You'll Do:
Maintain and update patient medical records, including vital signs, treatments, and medications, and review immunization records.
Prepare for patient visits by reviewing files, ensuring necessary reports are available, and collaborating with Providers for efficient scheduling and continuity of care
Prepare and maintain exam rooms, explain procedures to patients, provide education and coaching, respond to patient questions and concerns, and assist physicians during exams and procedures
Collect and prepare lab specimens, administer medication, and perform other assigned clinical responsibilities
Qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma or GED.
Completion of either an accredited medical assisting program from CAAHEP or ABHES (720 Medical Assistant training hours, including 160-hour externship), an approved apprentice program, 720 hours of Medical Assistant college education, equivalent military training, or current MA or eligibility for certification
One year's experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is preferred.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required within 90 days of hire.
National credential from AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT within 90 days of hire
Bilingual (English/Spanish, Cantonese, & Vietnamese) candidates qualify for bilingual differential with a level 10 score on the language test

Review health questionnaire with patient and notify provider of reported conditions that could effect treatment. Promote patients emotional comfort by gaining rapport, instilling confidence and promoting tranquility. Inform and answer patients and/or parents questions regarding care and service provided as directed by provider.
Anticipate needs of provider in the delivery of patient care and service. Communicate information important to maintaining the proper scheduling and flow of patients consistent with information recorded in the patients dental record. Prepare, organize, arrange and pass dental instruments, supplies and materials as requested by the provider and required by established guidelines. Establish and maintain a clear and clean operating field. Record and verify information in the patients dental record according to established procedures. Record and/or verify all patient care and service related information on all necessary forms and documents consistent with established guidelines and in a manner that accurately reflects the information documented in the patients dental record. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach the course curriculum as outlined by program director.
Coordinate curriculum and academic resource development, evaluation, and revision as needed. Assist in maintaining and updating all records for each site review.
Provide input and recommendations regarding potential candidates for employment with each facility.
Ensure their knowledge of open positions, and other specific candidate requests as determined by the leadership of each individual facility.
Assist with coordinating the scheduling of classes and clinicals, for each location.
Will work closely with the leadership and staff in each facility to identify and incorporate Avalon core values, key policies, and processes into the CNA program curriculum as much as possible.
