This APP role would be largely outpatient with on-call responsibilities. The office location would be in Parkesburg; however, travel would be required to Lancaster General Hospital on surgery days. The APP will be supporting an Orthopedic surgeon with a focus on joint replacements and general orthopedics. This APP will oversee post-operative care in the outpatient setting, perform minor procedures such as joint injections, complete workup for new consultations to our practice as well as fulfilling the first assistant role in the OR approximately 2 days/week.
Hours: Fulltime (1.0 FTE), with hours generally falling between 7am - 5pm. The position includes rotating holiday coverage and 1 week of on-call on an every 6?8-week rotation.
Minimum Requirements:
Physician Assistant
Current licensure as a Physician Assistant by PA Board of Medicine.
Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program.
Minimum one-year experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred.
Valid, unrestricted federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number
Credentialed by the medical staff in accordance with current policy and procedure.

Administrative Functions
Schedule all staff and maintain upkeep on schedule, due to call-offs, terminations, and vacation.
Assist with all planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and direct facility's programs and activities.
Completes all Employee and Residents Chart Audits, at least 1 time per month to comply with state regulations.
Completes all Cart Audits for resident medication, also complete all documentation needed, along with discharging any outdated medications properly.
Delivery of resident care for their overall well-being; Ensures that appropriate high quality resident care is tailored to the person centered needs of the resident.
Has current medication administration training and is able to complete care partner training and observations.
Inform residents, families, and financial POA of any changes to residents LOCA.
Complete all check request forms and provided Administer approval on all purchases.
Promotes quality care and team work.
Oversees the clinical aspects of resident care.
Leads and influences staff in a positive manner that creates commitment to meet the productivity and quality expectations; recognizes people for doing their best; keeps people informed and involves them appropriately in decisions.
Serves as the ambassador for the personal care community.
Accurately reads and records resident's vital signs to include temperature, respirations, and pulse.
Reviews and monitors all documentation for accuracy, safety procedures, resident's rights, and the care plan itself, with recommended changes.
Obtains physician's written order and coordinated the medication plan of each resident with pharmacy, family, and resident, paying strict attention to all policies and regulation.
Document medication changes.
Makes pertinent resident observations, recognizes emergencies, and seeks guidance appropriately. Participates in support plan meetings.
Interpret facility's policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary.
