    Job DescriptionSalary: Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Recovery Support Specialist Facility: Indiana Treatment Centers In Partnership With: Ascension Recovery Services Shifts Available: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM 2:30 PM 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM 10:30 PM 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM 6:30 AM Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, PRN GENERAL DESCRIPTION Indiana Treatment Centers, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services, is dedicated to assisting individuals on their path to recovery from substance use disorders and related behavioral health challenges. We are seeking Qualified Medication Aides (QMAs) to join our care team at our Mishawaka facility. In this role, you will function as a Recovery Support Specialist with medication administration responsibilities, working under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse (RN or LPN). You will administer medications in accordance with provider orders, Indiana State regulations, Joint Commission standards, and facility policy while supporting clients in both Detox (ASAM 3.7) and Residential (ASAM 3.5) levels of care. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Administer oral, topical, and other non-parenteral medications as delegated by the supervising nurse and in compliance with Indiana QMA regulations Accurately document all medication administration in the electronic medical record (EMR) Immediately report medication errors, omissions, or variances to the supervising nurse Monitor and report client responses to medications, including side effects or adverse reactions Assist with medication counts, secure storage, and chain-of-custody procedures Support nursing staff with vital signs, patient monitoring, and delegated clinical tasks Maintain a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment aligned with trauma-informed care principles Adhere to all Joint Commission, state, and federal regulatory standards Participate in required training and maintain active QMA certification Uphold the organizations Code of Ethics and confidentiality requirements QUALIFICATIONS Required High School Diploma or GED Current Indiana Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) certification Completion of CNA certification Completion of a state-approved 100-hour QMA course Successful completion of written and skills examinations Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire) Ability to pass background check and drug screening Preferred Prior experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, detox, residential care, or long-term care Familiarity with trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented environments KEY COMPETENCIES Strong attention to detail and medication safety practices Compassionate, calm, and trauma-informed approach to client care Clear and effective communication with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 Reliable, punctual, and adaptable in a 24/7 treatment environment WORK CONDITIONS Behavioral health treatment facility including detox and residential settings Regular exposure to clients experiencing withdrawal, emotional distress, or behavioral challenges Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays Frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Zero unreported medication errors or variances Full compliance with Joint Commission, Indiana State, and federal regulations Consistent demonstration of company values: respect, integrity, responsibility, and engagement Effective collaboration with nursing, clinical, and recovery support teams Timely completion of required training and maintenance of QMA certification COMPENSATION The base compensation range for this position is $18-$25 This range reflects Ascension Recovery Services good faith estimate at the time of posting. Placement within the range will be based on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity. We are seeking Qualified Medication Aides (QMAs) to join our care team at our Mishawaka facility. In this role, you will function as a Recovery Support Specialist with medication administration responsibilities, working under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse (RN or LPN). You will administer medications in accordance with provider orders, Indiana State regulations, Joint Commission standards, and facility policy while supporting clients in both Detox (ASAM 3.7) and Residential (ASAM 3.5) levels of care. Job Description Nursing Assistant Training Miller's is proud to provide training for those interested in a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant free of charge. Qualifications Classroom Instruction Each student is required to complete 36-40 hours of classroom work. All students are required to pass (with 80%) all of the tests administered during the classroom portion. (Each student has 3 attempts to pass) If a student does not pass the classroom phase of the course they will not be placed into the clinicals. Clinical Practicum Each student is required to complete 75 hours of supervised practicum in a long-term care facility. During the practicum, the student must perform all required skills successfully. The first 16 hours of practicum is with the class instructor. Absence during this time will result in being excused from the program. During the practicum, the student may be assigned to work with a preceptor who will assist the student in organization and time management. At the completion of the program the preceptor as well as the instructor will be given an evaluation sheet to complete regarding the students progress during the clinical. All skills checklists booklets (RCP's) not signed during the classroom must be demonstrated and signed off during the clinicals by the clinical instructor, or other licensed nursing professional. Completed checklist (RCP) must be submitted at the completion of the clinicals with all required skills completed or will not be eligible for the required state exam. A “clinical sign-in record” is supplied to each student. This form must be completed by the student and signed by a qualified licensed professional on a daily basis. The student must include the following information on the sheet: date and actual hours worked, signature of student, cosigned by licensed supervisor. Additional Information Students are required to pass a criminal background check along with a TB test and physical prior to starting the course. Attendance to all classroom sessions is mandatory in order to meet the program requirements as set by the Indiana State Department of Health. Unsatisfactory performance or attendance issues may result in dismissal from the course/program. Students should check with the facility for details on the dress code requirements. When a student that successfully completes the course he/she will be awarded a certificate of completion, will get a scheduled test date, and will have the scheduled test paid for by Miller's Merry Manor if hired and in good standing as an employee. If the student does not pass the 1st test it may be retaken and paid for by Miller's a second time.
