As a Certified Nursing Assistant, here's a big-picture view of what you'll do:
Care for the personal care and hygiene needs of patients in facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers and hospitals
Work with a team of physicians, RNs, LPNs and aides to deliver excellent patient care
Help with daily needs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating and nutritional intake

Assists with ambulation, range-of-motion exercises, positioning, turning and transfers according to patient's abilities, tolerance and preference.
Takes and records vital signs, observes changes in patient's condition or behavior; promptly reports any changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel.
Provides personal care to patients, including bathing, peri-care, shampoo, oral hygiene, denture care, nail care, shaving and assisting with dressing.
Aides/assists with patient's toileting needs, including bedpan/urinal use, catheter care, changing briefs, and when delegated and supervised, administers suppositories/enemas.
Periodically addresses food and fluid issues by preparing meals, feeding patient and/or offering fluids.
Helps to maintains patient's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears or other damage by changing incontinent patients, turning, repositioning and applying lotion.

Qualifications
Unencumbered Colorado Certified Nursing Assistant license preferred
Colorado Driver's License with demonstrated safe driving history with a clean driving record
CDL license is greatly encouraged.
Ability to apply for CDL in the future required.
Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility & caring for patients
Previous experience driving a facility vehicle and managing an appointment scheduling
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, staff, and the general public
Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check & drug screen
Must be organized and detail oriented
High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities
Transport residents to and from medical appointments, hospitals, outside activities and other healthcare facilities. Assist residents with entering the appointment location safely and waiting until the appointment is over to leave the premises.
Transport new or discharged residents to new locations.
Operate the facility's transport van in a safe manner; ensuring the bus is clean with a full tank of gas each day. Alerting the facility administrator when the vehicle needs to be serviced, inspected and registration renewed.
Complete daily transportation logs.
Provide care to patients following facility policies and procedures while transporting residents to appointments.
Coordinate appointments and transportation in advance to ensure residents are ready for their pickup time as well as to ensure the schedule and routes are confirmed eliminating conflicts to avoid missed appointments.
Ensure any new orders from outside physicians are given to charge nurse to enter resident chart.
Communicate with outside providers, Brookside nursing staff, and physician's within the facility.
Maintain confidentiality with resident information in accordance with HIPPA compliance and laws.
Implement transportation systems to meet patients' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements
During down time, assist with stocking resident rooms with necessary supplies in an orderly and neat fashion
Assemble items when necessary
Assists with maintaining and verifying current inventory
Consistently lifting/moving objects up to 50 pounds
Cleans equipment in compliance with infection control procedures
Distributes and stocks supplies to appropriate locations
Assist with administrative duties such as answering phones, greeting staff/visitors, etc
Performs other duties as assigned

Salary: $1340 / Week , Day or Night, 4x12s - Shift availability may vary. 24 weeks only Pueblo, Colorado - Psych State Hospital Setting Facility Specific Requirements: 1. Colorado CNA License 2. 2 years of psych experience is REQUIRED. State Hospital experience preferred.
3. No Requested Time Off.
4. Must be flexible with scheduling, no accommodations.
5. Active American Heart Association BLS must be active for the entire assignment

1. Must be 50+ miles away from the facility to qualify for the travel rate, local candidates may apply for the local hourly rate. No Stipends offered for local candidates.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs directpatient care under the direct supervision of a RN or LPN/LVN or other licensedmedical professional. The CNA/NA performs a variety of individualized patient careactivities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for thepersonal needs and comforts of patients.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Prefer one year experience as a certified nursing assistantwithin the last three years
