SUMMARY OF JOB: The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing basic nursing care and non-professional services under the direction of the Wing Nurse. Escort or transport residents from one area to another within the facility for activities, therapies, or other appointments. Assist in admission, discharge, and transfer of residents. SUMMARY OF JOB: The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing basic nursing care and non-professional services under the direction of the Wing Nurse. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Give basic nursing care, including bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, nail care, skin care, and shaving. Assist residents with dressing/undressing as necessary. Make beds and change linens as needed; make sure bed is in a correct and comfortable position. Deliver meals and between meal nourishments, assist with feeding as necessary and record meal consumption. Monitor and record bowel and bladder function and assist residents as necessary. Maintain intake and output records as instructed. Assist residents to walk with/without assistive devices, and moving to and from beds or chairs/wheelchairs. Take temperatures, pulses, respirations, and blood pressures as directed and record as instructed. Report any changes in resident's condition to the wing nurse. Answer call lights and respond to resident's request in an appropriate manner. Weigh and measure residents as instructed. Assist with the care of the dying resident and provide post-mortem care as instructed. Check residents routinely to assure that their personal care needs are being met. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information. Report all grievances and complaints made by the resident to the wing nurse. Collect lab specimens as directed by the wing nurse. Escort or transport residents from one area to another within the facility for activities, therapies, or other appointments. Assist in admission, discharge, and transfer of residents. Maintain the cleanliness of all areas on the nursing unit and the resident's room. Assist with resident's personal laundry as needed. Notify wing nurse of any resident leaving/missing from floor. Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the wing nurse immediately. Follow established isolation precautions and procedures. Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties. Adheres to the Organizations Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns. Follows all local, state and federal regulations as they pertain to their position. Adheres to the Organization's Policies and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in Compliance with HIPAA regulations. Employee has completed annual compliance training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the code of conduct in the performance of their duties.
