Provides direct resident care while promoting resident dignity, independence, and choice; regularly observes resident's physical and mental condition and directly reports to the Director of Nursing Services. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the resident, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors. Assists with or performs ADL's as needed, accurately documents care services provided in observation on communication logs and incident reports. Greets residents, visitors, and staff courteously and in a manner that respects dignity, confidentiality standards and promotes individual rights. Follows and supports community fire safety and infection control practices and promptly reports any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Director of Nursing Services. Follows standard precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs. Restores medication and equipment and keeps the medication room clean and orderly. Removes outdated or discontinued medication for return to the pharmacy. Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays current on system assigned tasks and duties. Performs other tasks/duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS A high school diploma or equivalent Must hold current CNA/HCA license in good standing Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Must hold a medication pass certification per state requirements Current First Aid and CPR Card Maintains current Food Handlers card Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check General computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Working knowledge of office machines (copier, fax, phone system, etc.).
