Optimal Care Hospice Aides are paraprofessional members of the hospice interdisciplinary team who work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and perform various services to meet patient personal needs and to promote comfort. Job Description:
Transports patients within the hospital and between buildings by stretcher or wheelchair. Performs tasks involving heavy lifting, cleaning and maintaining transport equipment. Assists nursing staff in the care and treatment of patients on a nursing unit.

What will I do as a Resident Aide with Genacross?
Provide quality personal care to ensure that residents are comfortable and are provided with the highest quality of care. Adheres to all guidelines learned and state guidelines as well as comply with Genacross policies and procedures.
Complete administrative requirements to ensure that proper documentation is maintained. Completes paperwork, medical forms, charting and all required documentation as a part of the resident care process and the transition of care process.
Assist the residents with daily tasks related to dining and the resident activities program.
Follow care plan functions to meet the specific needs of each resident. Focus on resident's individualized needs and encourage resident's ability to make personal choices.
Reports allegations of abuse/neglect and reports, as appropriate, to proper organization leadership.
Reports hazardous incidents, including but not limited to, injuries, equipment, etc., to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor.
Accepts direction of charge nurse in relation to direct resident care.
Resident Aide Requirements:
Must have or be willing to complete the required training for the position of Resident Aide Assistant including first-aid training.
Must be at least 16 years old.
Familiarity with basic computer skills. Ability to learn new software applications as required by the position.
Must demonstrate an ability to read, write, understand and communicate job-related information and directions in English.
Must be medically capable of performing the duties described.
