Job Description Under the supervision of the Radiology Director/Manager and/or Lead Technologist the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform all Nuclear Medicine duties as well as other related duties as needed to facilitate workflow and promote health care. The Nuclear Medicine Technologists will operate Nuclear Medicine equipment in a safe and competent manner to produce quality diagnostic images as directed by physicians according to established standards and protocols. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Orders and maintains Nuclear Medicine supplies and radiopharmaceuticals. Prepares radiopharmaceuticals and administers to patients appropriately. Reviews requisitions for completeness and pertinence. Schedules and performs Nuclear Medicine scans as ordered by the requesting physician(s). Confidentiality is maintained at all times. Performs ongoing preventative maintenance and radiation surveys. Performs quality control procedures as outlined by the manufacturer. Documents and maintains records appropriately. Takes corrective action to remedy problems identified. Maintains all records of receipt and disposal of radioactive materials as required by State and Federal regulations. Follows radiation safety guidelines and uses appropriate safety equipment and techniques. Follows Standard Precautions Assists the Radiology Director/Manager in developing the department's quality improvement program and reporting methods.
