Key Responsibilities:
Animal Care and Support:
Provide compassionate and attentive care to animals in the kennel, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
Assist with walking, feeding, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff.
Observe animals for any signs of distress, illness, or behavior changes and promptly report concerns to veterinarians or veterinary technicians.
Cleaning and Sanitation:
Maintain a clean and sanitary kennel environment by regularly cleaning and disinfecting cages, runs, and common areas.
Launder and sanitize bedding, towels, and other animal-related items.
Properly dispose of waste and ensure waste areas are kept clean and organized.
Animal Handling and Restraint:
Safely and gently handle animals, following established protocols for restraint to ensure the safety of both animals and staff.
Assist veterinary staff during procedures and examinations, providing support as needed.
Client Interaction and Communication:
Interact with pet owners in a professional and friendly manner, providing updates on their pets' well-being and addressing any questions or concerns.
Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring a smooth experience for both clients and their pets.
Facility Maintenance and Organization:
Assist with maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the clinic/hospital, including exam rooms, treatment areas, and public spaces.
Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and maintaining a well-organized supply storage area.
Qualifications:
Genuine passion for animals and a strong commitment to their welfare.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, team members, and veterinarians.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.

General Purpose

Prepare infectious waste for disposal. Prepare reports and document laboratory results in patient records. Collect and record patient payments, complete deposit form and count receipts to prepare bank deposit. Answer telephone, greet clinic customers, assist in routine clerical duties, and operate common office machines including computers.

Qualifications and requirements
Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities.
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Documentation of current State Issued NursingAssistantCertification or completion of Medical/Surgical semester from a school of nursing program with a B average or better or licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician or documentation of a current State issued Emergency Medical Technician License or documentation of having worked as a Military Medic/Healthcare Specialist (DD214) or similar military issued document needed to validate training or documentation of having successfully completed a Patient Care Technician Program and hold a current Patient Care Tech National Certification (NHA, NCCT or NHCWA).
Patient Care Tech will be required to take and pass Memorial Medical Center's Patient Care Tech course within 90 days of hire.
