Job Summary

Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational. May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursingassistant experience in long-term care preferred.
Required CertifiedNursingAssistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement. CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually. Maintains all department specific required certifications.
When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor
vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license. Also must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of
this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy per the leaders request.

As a nursingassistant to HIA Hospice, formerly Hospice of the Red River Valley, this person would be a vital member of the Interdisciplinary team (IDG). We are seeking a motivated person with initiative to learn, dependable and a team player. This nursingassistant would be responsible to provide personal care services to hospice patients as directed by the patient's plan of care. These services include personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance needed. Safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and complete charting in appropriate time to ensure the team receives complete reporting.
This position is Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm, every 4th weekend, and 2 holidays per year. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.

This position promotes resident centered care by providing choice to residents, will provide meal service, housekeeping and laundry services in a positive and supportive environment for residents. The following job duties and responsibilities is intended to reflect the major responsibilities and essential functions of the job but is not intended to describe minor duties or other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
* Assists in food preparation and food service to residents.
* Prepares and delivers food substitutions to residents as needed and assists residents in setting up meal tray as needed.
* Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures and is responsible for ensuring diet and preferences are followed accurately for each resident.
* Ensures proper sanitation and storage of kitchen equipment, food and supplies.
* Ensures that food temperatures are maintained at proper levels through service, and storage.
* Assists residents and staff with menu questions, complaints and concerns.
* Understands modified diets and is a team player in working toward resident's nutritional wellbeing.
* Carries out garbage, cleans equipment, work tables ranges, utensils, pots and pans, floors and so forth as assigned.
* May transport food carts to and from resident areas as needed.
* Performs dishwashing and cleaning procedures.
* Documents food, refrigerator, freezer temperatures.
* Performs resident laundry services.
This position requires ability to lift, push and move equipment, supplies, etc., up to fifty pounds. Constant standing and walking is required. Frequent bending, lifting, squatting, kneeling also required. Must be able to move about in tight spaces and between objects, furniture and equipment. Ability to maneuver equipment such as vacuums, mop, ability to receive verbal instructions and converse with co-workers, residents and visitors.
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: Previous customer service and dining service experience preferred
