Job Summary:
Community Residence Aides (CRAs) in our Residential Department work within group homes and apartment settings to provide a wide variety of person-centered, trauma informed supports and services to adults with a mental health diagnosis. CRAs will provide support with daily living activities and socialization; while modeling, teaching, and advocating for them to live at their highest level of independence. CRAs are responsible for the supervision and safety of those residing at their site, overseeing medication self-administration, medical appointment participation, and household chores and cleaning. Paid training is provided. Sites are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Residence locations are on the East Side of Buffalo.
CRAs working 3pm-11pm Monday through Friday will receive a shift differential of $1.50 per hour. CRAs working 11pm-7am Monday through Friday will receive a shift differential of $2.00 per hour. Weekend shift differential is $2.00 additional per hour. Some CRAs will earn up to $19.50 per hour depending on the shift worked.
Supervisory Duties:
This position has no supervisory duties.
Essential functions: Percent of time:
Resident Services 85%
Providing support by assisting with skill development or re-development.
Providing transportation to community events and activities, as well as personal and medical appointments in company owned vehicles.
Providing support to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with their peers and within their community.
Providing support by demonstrating respect and teaching daily problem-solving skills.
Providing restorative services to residents to assist them in achieving established goals.
Always ensuring the proper supervision and safety of program participants.
Following health and safety guidelines.
Completing service documentation in an electronic medical record (EMR) system in accordance with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations.
Must remain awake and alert while working - on all shifts.
Facilities 10%
Maintain a clean and orderly environment that is welcoming and highly functional.
Performs housekeeping duties including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming.
Shops for and stocks supplies including groceries.
Receives shipments and orders from suppliers.
Ensures site supplies are maintained at proper levels and inventory is maintained.
Any other job responsibilities directly assigned to you by your supervisor. 5%
Education:
High School degree or equivalent with 1 plus years of related experience OR
Associates degree in a related field and/or related experience AND
At least one year of related experience is required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Valid NYS Driver's license with evidence of good driving record
Positive attitude with motivation to provide interactive and compassionate experience to those in our programs.
Must be able to read and write case notes and be able to follow written directions.
Must be able to manage multiple assigned tasks at one time and meet assigned deadlines.
Must have basic computer knowledge.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ergonomics:
Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, standard lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying, repetitive movements. Ability to operate and repair machines; prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching.
Must be able to access and navigate the site and go up and down stairs.
All of the ergonomic requirements must be performed without significant risk of injury to oneself or others or otherwise demonstrated or explain how one can perform essential functions of the position listed above with or without accommodations.

CRAs working 3pm-11pm Monday through Friday will receive a shift differential of $1.50 per hour. CRAs working 11pm-7am Monday through Friday will receive a shift differential of $2.00 per hour. Weekend shift differential is $2.00 additional per hour. Some CRAs will earn up to $19.50 per hour depending on the shift worked.
