We are looking for a qualified individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant // MA. Primary Duties of a Medical Assistant: Enter information concerning visit in Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Escorting patients to exam rooms. Assisting providers with clinical procedures and surgeries. Record and document patient history to patient charts. Answering phone calls, voicemails, and patient clinical questions. Review medical history and counsel patients regarding their clinical status and need for further evaluation or treatment. Explaining/documenting laboratory results and pathology results. Calling in prescription refills. Explaining procedures and treatments. Initiating prior authorizations. Use a squeegee to remove excess water; clean cat litter boxes and disinfect kitty condos; clean and disinfect all food and water bowls. * Wear personal protective equipment required for the area and maintain the personal protective equipment in good working order. Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency. Communication: Maintain good relationships with the patient, the patient's family, and staff. Reports any changes to the patient's medical and living conditions to the supervisor or the primary nurse. Minimize Patient Risk: Meet safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, Oxygen, etc.). Provide proper care and observation of patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence. Policies: Adhere to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct. Operations: Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings. REQUIREMENTS: Meets the training requirements of the State and has successfully completed a state established or other training program that meets the State's requirements of a competency evaluation program, or state licensure program. One year of experience is preferred, preferably in Hospice care. How you will change lives As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure. What you'll be doing Patient care. You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats before and after treatment, initiating treatment, monitoring patients during treatment, terminating treatment, and collecting patient blood samples per physician orders. Technician Duties. You will ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed. Safety and Quality. You will use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment. Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations.
