This position will perform a variety of support functions. • Become familiar with the facility's administrative structure as introduced in the pre-training orientation session • Report to the charge nurse all accidents/incidents (even of an unknown source) you observe on the shift they occur. • Report all changes in the resident's condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical. • Answer phone (especially during mealtimes) • Assist with errand of residents/staff • Assist with secretarial tasks at the nursing station (making copies, filing, etc.) as requested • Straighten resident closets/drawers - label resident belongings. We're looking for someone to join our team as a Medical Assistant I who: The MA I will perform routine patient care, technical and supportive functions in a medical clinic setting. The Medical Assistant I will function within the scope of practice as described by the State of California Board. Essential Functions: * Perform routine patient care functions as prescribed by licensed heath care providers following established clinical protocols, policies, and procedures within their scope of education, training, and responsibilities. * Facilitate the practice of their assigned provider(s) by performing routine clerical functions as assigned. * Prepare and administer medications as directed by provider order. * Verify patient identity using two forms of identification. (i.e., Name and Date of Birth) as per HIPAA regulations. * Assist medical personnel with special procedures, minor surgical procedures, and/or diagnostic examinations. * Apply principles of infection control practices adopted by Clinica Sierra Vista. * Perform Venipuncture among other lab duties. * Document pertinent patient information, nursing procedures, and patient response in the Electronic Health Records System (ERH), following established guidelines and maintaining patient confidentiality. * Able to perform other duties as assigned and directed. Current staff must receive competency in venipuncture within one (1) year of the job descriptions revision date. * Experience in EHR Documentation is highly desired. * Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista's employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.
