Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking an Operating Room First Assistant Registered Nurse. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a surgical environment. You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of intra-operative patients.
You will assist surgeons in operative procedures patients.
You will maintain and review patients' records including posting tests and examination results.

Requirements:
Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or ARNP in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
Graduate of an accredited by CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) and the State of Florida Surgical Assistant Program, or Medical School Graduate, or Allied Health professional having completed 2250 hours surgical rotation.
Current Certified First Assistant (CFA) having completed 350 cases. Two years of experience within the last four years.
Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Current Certification as First Assistant (CFA) required.
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills

General housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen, laundry, bed making, and changes.
Encourage resident wellness so far as their condition, abilities, needs, and desires allow.
Encourage resident independence, well-being, and interests, (arts and crafts, reading and writing, hobbies and interests); assist in bringing residents to activities and dining.
Observe, document, and report to Director of Nursing and Executive Director, via phone, all changes in the residents' physical condition and cognitive/emotional status. Document in ALERT & Communications Book.
Always record incidents, errors, or accidents on appropriate documents in eMAR.
Assist in a variety of tasks related to dining.
Assist with activities for residents as assigned.
Respond to and act appropriately in emergency or disaster situations.
Plan and complete duties with minimal direction from the supervisor.
Initiate one-on-one visits from family with residents.
Always use tactful communication techniques with residents, families, and co-workers.
Act as an ambassador and public relations representative to guests and other visitors.
Accompany residents on off-site activities as needed.
Prepare and serve snacks as needed.

The Med Tech ensures timely distribution of medication to all residents by providing assistance with self-medication as prescribed by healthcare provider. Responsibilities: • Provide care and assistance with the functions of daily living
• Maintain residents' health records/resident charts by timely documenting any changes in health, incidents, and observation of unusual occurrences
• Maintain Medication Observation Records
• Assist with self-administration of medication
• Respond quickly to emergencies
• Coordinate physician/hospital visits
• Maintain confidentiality
• Communicate effectively with all staff, residents and their families
Job Requirements:
• 4 hour Certification for Self-Administration of Medication
• current CPR/First Aid certification a plus
• prior work experience in geriatric, nursing, assisted living or similar environment preferred
• ability to be on his/her feet for prolonged periods
• self-motivated with good communication and interpersonal skills
• ability to pass pre-employment drug-and background screening (level 2)
