Position Summary:
Maintains the ordering and stocking of medications and supplies as needed in the clinic. Key Performance Areas:

* Handle biohazardous waste disposal safely and compliantly, including recordkeeping and coordination with Accounting.
3. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
* Maintain required records for compassionate drug programs, clinical trials, biohazard waste, and related pharmacy processes.
* Ensure compliance with all federal/state laws, patient privacy regulations, OSHA standards, and organizational policies.
4. Training & Collaboration
* Assist in training new pharmacy technicians and nursing staff on chemotherapy preparation and Nucleus system workflows.
* Collaborate with nurses, physicians, supervisors, and pharmaceutical representatives as needed to support patient care and operational needs.
5. Operational Flexibility & Professional Responsibilities
* Support operations across multiple locations as needed and work overtime when required.
* Participate in mandatory meetings, including annual Safety/OSHA training.
Position Qualifications:
Education
* Following applicable state regulations, PTCB Certification or Registered as Pharmacy Technician is required.
Minimum Relevant Experience

Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Tech I, Nuclear Pharmacy is to assist the pharmacist and Tech II in pharmacy operations and customer interactions, including answering questions and relaying information to physicians and pharmacists. As a trainee, the Tech I, Nuclear Pharmacy is involved in learning all basic aspects of facility and equipment preparation, including cleaning, inventory management and how to perform and record all tasks as mandated by law. As part of operating in a nuclear pharmacy, this job assists in performing quality checks, functional testing, and participating in the dispensing process. In addition, this job assists in order preparation, entry and fulfillment as well as completing ad hoc tasks, as required.

Responsibilities
Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, you will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. Many of your duties will include:
Prepare prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval
Draw doses into either a syringe or vial
Perform quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines.
Receive, document, and store incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines
Maintain computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for Rx drugs
Assist and/or perform in the labeling of blood cell products
Perform general laboratory and facility clean up
May perform clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily records, preparation of receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records
Make deliveries to accounts with company vehicles as needed
Speak with customers and address questions and/or concerns via telephone
Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy. Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Maryland State Pharmacy technician license/registration required
Experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
Strong customer service skills
Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting, and holding of small objects.
Demonstrated manual dexterity to dispense doses
Ability to manage up to 75 pounds
Must hold a valid driver's license in the state in which the pharmacy is located
Intermediate computer skills (ability to use computers and tablets)

Receives and processes orders for controlled substances from prescriptions, wards, clinics, and pharmacy subsection; screens orders and prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness and conformity to laws and regulations; performs final pharmacy check and issues controlled substances to authorized areas, completes issue, and controls documents ensuring chain of custody is maintained; safeguards controlled substances according to regulations and pharmacy policies, reports all problems to the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC)/Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Section.
Interpret physicians' order and perform necessary steps to input, fill and dispense prescriptions within the parameters established by the Pharmacy Policy and Procedures Manual.
Review and prepare orders for intravenous additive solutions, utilizing sterile technique and in accordance with infection control procedures.
Assemble drugs and supplies for distribution to the Primary Care Center (PCC).
Answer routine questions concerning proper administration and use of medications, drug interactions and incompatibilities, availability of drugs, and unit of use. Convey necessary information to the hospital staff and/or patients to ensure correct use.
Maintain adequate levels of working stock, ensuring that all supplies are properly stored, and advise supply personnel of any shortages of medications or supplies.
Check drug supplies to ensure that medications are in date and properly maintained.
Maintain the required records and accountability documents reflecting the issuance and receipt of narcotic and controlled substances.
Implement all departmental policies and procedures and participate in quality assurance activities.
Assist pharmacists in providing guidance and training for pharmacy technician's students and inexperienced technicians.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of two (2) years as a Pharmacy Technician post-graduation.
Must be a graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program accredited by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists (ASHP) such as the Pharmacy TechnicianCertification Board or have successfully completed a formal (i.e. technical or hospital-based program) pharmacy technician training program.
Valid, unrestricted, license, as Pharmacy Technician in at least one state, territory or commonwealth of the U.S.
