Collect and send samples of compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) for sterility, potency, and endotoxin testing.
Conduct environmental monitoring (e.g., air and surface sampling) in cleanrooms to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Perform visual inspection of finished drug products.
Maintain incubation schedules of environmental monitoring sample plates and document results in associated reports and batch records.
Maintain accurate and thorough records of all testing and inspections.
Ensure all documentation complies with FDA 503B regulations, USP standards, and internal SOPs.

Job Purpose
The purpose of the IV Pharmacy Technician is to assist licensed pharmacists in providing medication and other healthcare products to patients. IV Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for the preparation, distribution, and inventory of drugs within the pharmacy department.
Essential Job Functions
Preparation - Accurate and timely preparation of medications which includes selection, labeling, repackaging, non-sterile compounding, and sterile compounding. Follow proper donning and doffing of PPE.
Distribution - Accurate and timely receives and delivers medications to the appropriate storage locations, ensuring all orders are correct and accounted for, verifying quantities against invoices. Manage distribution of drugs to and from satellite locations.
Inventory - Maintains accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies, reconciling any discrepancies. Accurate and timely completion of assigned inventory audits such as cycle counts. Order drugs and IV room supplies based on future schedule or as needed. Return and credit useable stock to inventory upon discontinuation of order.
Regulatory compliance - Maintains a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains proper storage and security of conditions for drugs. Documents regulatory requirements such as temperature and cleaning logs accurately and timely. Stock supplies in the IV room for compounding and mixing needs. Stock Nurse areas with solutions and tubing needs.
Communication and teamwork - Communicate in an effective and positive manner.
Demonstrates emotional control and intelligence in managing work relationships. Answers telephone and emails, responding to questions or requests. Attends and actively participates in team quarterly meetings. Shares responsibility for accomplishment of the IV Pharmacy tasks and goals.
Technology - Appropriately uses CCI's information systems, technology, pharmacy programs and automation to complete assigned tasks.
Reports to Lead IV Pharmacy Technician keeping it as concise as possible

Must be familiar with HIPAA
Must have strong attention to detail and organization skills

Perform visual inspection of unlabeled finished drug products
Classify observed defects into pre-defined categories
Calculates percent defects on inspection results and reconciles components
Proper documentation of visual inspection activities on associated compounding records in accordance with procedures, CGMP, and CGDP
Labeling of Finished Drug Products
Label all products following facility and regulatory requirements
Perform post-labeling inspections
Quality Control Functions and Tasks

Conduct routine environmental monitoring of controlled compounding areas
Record room conditions in appropriate monitoring software

Qualifications and Education Requirements
