POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pharmacy Technician of the Equitas Health Pharmacy is responsible for providing superior customer service and being a good team member. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide excellent customer service to Equitas Health Pharmacy patients.
* Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently. This includes collecting all pertinent patient information, providing thorough and accurate insurance verification, and processing prescription orders with detail, efficiency and accuracy. Key Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
Accurately fill prescriptions and verify patient information, ensuring proper dosage and drug interactions.
Maintain medication inventory by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and performing regular inventory checks.
Manage patient records and update prescription information in the pharmacy management system.
Provide exceptional customer service, answering patient questions and providing medication counseling under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Assist with drug utilization reviews to ensure appropriate and safe use of medications.
Handle prescription and medication refills in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist in compounding medications as necessary.
Ensure the pharmacy is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Process insurance claims and manage billing as needed.
Comply with all pharmacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA and state-specific regulations.
Support pharmacists in any additional tasks related to patient care and pharmacy operations.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Pharmacy TechnicianCertification (CPhT) required.
Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medications, and dosage forms is a plus.
Proficient in using pharmacy software and computer systems.
Certifications:
CPhT required.
Ohio Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of pharmaceutical supplies.
Manual dexterity to handle medications and pharmacy equipment.
Working Conditions:
This position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays. The pharmacy is closed on Sundays.
