The dedicated individual must be able to work both independently and as part of a small group with everchanging priorities. GENERAL INFORMATION Reports to Shop Manager and Shop Floor Leader. Normal working hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Some flexibility is required to meet customer demands. Must be willing to work overtime as required. PRINCIPAL DUTIES Rewind various types of AC/DC motors including random and form wound coils, armatures and wound rotors. Strip and record coil data for AC and DC machines (motors/generators). Cut out or remove defective coils, record data, and remove insulation from core slots. Prepare and cut insulation. Fabricate random coils. Install and align formed coils or random coils into slots of stators, rotors or armatures. Insert copper coils in the stator with appropriate methods. Make connections (brazing and soldering). Complete varnish, bake and dip processes. Assemble, test and complete required paperwork/reports. Perform surge test, hi-pot megger, DLRO tests. Troubleshoot various electric motors to determine cause of failure. Perform other duties as required and assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Electro-mechanical background preferred but will train a serious candidate. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to perform basic math skills, addition and subtraction.
