Visit nchjobs.org to learn more. JOB SUMMARY The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for scheduling and supervising the technicians to meet the daily needs of the department. They will assist the pharmacy management team with technician hiring, evaluation and training. Additional responsibilities may include those of a pharmacy technician, including completion of tasks as delegated by the pharmacist in accordance with Florida law. Such technician responsibilities will include any or all of the following: medication order entry, medication delivery, IV admixture compounding including cytotoxic and medium risk compounding, Omnicell operation, order check-in, filling stock requisitions, filing orders, inventory management, ADT maintenance, computer/printer operation and maintenance, operation of pneumatic tubes, and crediting returned medications. The technician supervisor will also assist the billing department to maximize drug reimbursement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. * Assists with Billing office in reconciling drug charges and making corrections as appropriate. * Performs audits as scheduled. * Ensures charges and credits are processed in an accurately and timely manner. * Works with all appropriate NCH entities as needed for billing issues. * Responsible for scheduling and timecard approval of Pharmacy Technicians and daily assignments at both downtown and North Naples campuses. * Supervises the daily activities and handles any daily issues of scheduled Pharmacy Technicians at both hospital campuses. * Assists pharmacy management with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of the technician staff. * Assists the pharmacy management team with training and operational education for the pharmacy technician. * Provides coaching and corrective action as necessary to pharmacy technician staff in collaboration with management. * Possesses working knowledge of the automation systems (, OCRA, Omnicell cabinets, slicer dicer, Connect RX, Med Carousel.) * Manages multiple requests & projects at the same time and appropriately prioritizes customer service operations & project requests. * Performs AcuDose operations (refills, returns, reports, etc.) without discrepancies/ errors. * Accurately completes computer functions (ADT, order entry, printer operation, charges/ credits). * Understands general medical terminology, drug nomenclature, physician orders, and approved hospital abbreviations. * Can perform basic math functions using metric equivalents. * Completes assigned tasks in a reasonable time frame. Work habits are structured to generate the optimum level of productivity within the department. * Willingly aids other pharmacy areas when asked to do so by Director or pharmacist on duty. Accepts and completes other assignments delegated by Pharmacy Management. * High-level ability to problem solve daily pharmacy issues. * Demonstrates positive and effective interaction skills through verbal and nonverbal communication with patients, families, peers, superiors, and pharmacists. * Utilizes office equipment (copier, fax, printer, etc.) efficiently. * Gives appropriate information to caller, or relays questions as appropriate to a pharmacist. Provides feedback regarding problems and complaints, and offers constructive suggestions. * Uses chain of command for problem solving and conflict resolution. * Utilizes effective written and oral communication skills. * Meets and exceeds the expectations of patients and all other customers we serve. * Actively assists and supports departmental activities to ensure that operational and salary expenses are equal to or less than approved budget. * Understands the principles and concepts of Performance Improvement. Looks for opportunities and solutions for process improvements and seeks to improve job skills.
