Job Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician supports clinical research activities by assisting in the receipt, preparation, dispensing, storage, accountability, and documentation of investigational and non-investigational products in a regulated research pharmacy setting. Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee you will:
Prescription Fulfillment & Accuracy
Fills prescription items in compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery while meeting accuracy and productivity standards.
Labels products with cautionary and auxiliary information to ensure patient safety.
Medication Preparation & Compounding
Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, with experience in non-sterile compounding.
Performs sterile compounding and IV prescription preparation in accordance with PharMerica's quality standards and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
Cleans and maintains sterile compounding rooms per USP 797 guidelines.
Inventory & Supply Management
Participates in periodic pharmacy inventory, checking in drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, and removing expired items.
Reconciles and fills Emergency Drug Kit (EDK) boxes as needed.
Processes returned medications for credit or destruction in compliance with regulatory standards.
Order Entry & Documentation
Performs order entry for new and refill prescriptions with precision.
Files documentation as required by pharmacy regulations to maintain compliance and audit readiness.
Customer & Facility Support
Responds to inquiries from patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, providing clear and accurate information.
Coordinates with facility staff to ensure timely medication delivery and resolution of issues.
Additional Duties
Performs other assigned tasks to support pharmacy operations and patient care.

Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Tech I, Nuclear Pharmacy is to assist the pharmacist and Tech II in pharmacy operations and customer interactions, including answering questions and relaying information to physicians and pharmacists. As a trainee, the Tech I, Nuclear Pharmacy is involved in learning all basic aspects of facility and equipment preparation, including cleaning, inventory management and how to perform and record all tasks as mandated by law. Responsibilities
Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, you will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. Many of your duties will include:
* Prepare prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval
* Draw doses into either a syringe or vial
* Perform quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines.
* Receive, document, and store incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines
* Maintain computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for Rx drugs
* Assist and/or perform in the labeling of blood cell products
* Perform general laboratory and facility clean up
* May perform clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily records, preparation of receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records
* Make deliveries to accounts with company vehicles as needed
* Speak with customers and address questions and/or concerns via telephone
* Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy. Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding
Qualifications
* High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
* Maryland State Pharmacy technician license/registration required
* Experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
* Strong customer service skills
* Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting, and holding of small objects.
* Demonstrated manual dexterity to dispense doses
* Ability to manage up to 75 pounds
* Must hold a valid driver's license in the state in which the pharmacy is located
* Intermediate computer skills (ability to use computers and tablets)
