We seek a Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the Genoa mental health and specialty pharmacy primarily through dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties while under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist
Orders, receives and stores incoming pharmacy supplies
Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders
Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
Performs various clerical duties relating to the department
Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
Other duties as assigned
Ability to train other technicians when needed

Responsibilities
Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, you will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. Many of your duties will include:
Prepares prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval
Draws doses into either a syringe or vial
Performs quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines
Receives, documents, and stores incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines

Performs the daily maintenance of canisters and cleaning of machines as defined by schedule.

Daily Responsibilities:
The essential functions of a
Prior Authorizations Pharmacy Technician
are providing expertise and customer service support to members, customers, and/or providers. This position exists to take incoming requests for prior authorizations, for formulary and non-formulary medications, while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity. Request can be received via fax or telephone, from providers' offices and pharmacists. The position provides clinical review for authorizations in keeping with legal and contractual requirements, including but not limited to turn around times (TATs) and service level agreements (SLAs). The technician must provide the information clearly, accurately and in a professional manner. Interactions with callers must be documented per contractual and various regulatory / legal requirements.
Using established criteria and guidelines, the pharmacy technician receives and processes prior authorization requests made by providers and members for medications not inherently covered on a member's prescription drug plan
Answer prior authorization inquiry calls or/and faxes as well as research and resolve formulary and benefit issues using the appropriate reference material
Resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner
Performs other duties as assigned by management
Handles inbound phone requests and gathers member data to provide information for Pharmacist consultations
Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer
Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, and floor activity review
Shift:
Need to be available for any 8-hour shift between 5am and 11pm Monday through Saturday
Training hours will be 8-5 M-F
Overtime and Holidays will be required based on business
Qualifications
Requirements:
HS Diploma
Active Pharm Tech License in the state
Knowledge in Prior Authorizations or Pre-certifications
Knowledge in Insurance experience (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
Computer skills are a MUST (MS Excel, Word, Outlook)
